Pretty low CoA, but still pretty neat to finally find one after all these years. I'll try it out on my merc, see how it works out.

Still a bit better than a Rockstopper :)

I need bases for stuff, mainly an eth armor so I can socket it for a Fort for my merc. I think its the last thing he's really missing to make him durable. I have the runes, but finding a base is proving to be difficult. Hell Cows? CS? AT/Pit? I'll take any suggestions.

Also, anyone know what the best bases for a Grief or the other high end weapon runewords would be? Like BOTD, Death, Beast, etc. I know its typically PB or Zerk but I wanted to know if there were other decent ones.

Looks like I need to do some Pindle runs, but I notice you are running 1.13, and I am convinced the drop rates were tweaked in 1.14d for the worse.

I know, right?

I feel the same way - my drops have been garbage lately. Pindle and LK have had huge dry spells for me :(

Just do pits for bases.

BotD 1h - Berserker, but you shouldn't be making one anyway
BotD 2h - Great Poleaxe; depends heavily on what you're going to build since different classes have different base attack animation speeds depending on weapon family
Death 1h - Berserker
Death 2h - I made one in a Colossus Sword, but whatever 2h axe base that's fast enough for your needs should be fine too
Beast - Berserker, although I've heard of people using a Caduceus base
Grief - Phase Blade or Berserker

People around here have made the more esoteric HR runewrods, so you're better off deferring to them on those.

Why shouldn't I be making a 1h BotD?

Just an update on some more runs I've been doing...

This is kinda neat. Good for my Meteorb (if I decide to go pure damage and forgo some MF), but I wish it was 2 all sorc skills. Still, the Strength and FCR are quite nice.

Also found a low Dungos and Metalgrid earlier today. Dunno what I'd use the Metalgrid for, but hey, first time I've ever found it. Pindle seems to be really good to me, dunno why. All of this has been gifted to me from him. Is 1.13 really that much better in terms of drops?

A perfect roll BotD 1.07 superior ethereal Berserker Axe does less physical damage than a minimum roll Grief plain Berserker Axe, and the extra modifiers on Grief (ITD, ED vs demons, and Deadly Strike) are arguably better than the +stats and dual leech on BotD. Grief has the option of being made in a Phase Blade for the fastest base + indestructability, too. Given the cost disparity, there's no compelling reason to make a BotD in a 1h base unless you really want style points.

Well, I'm not quite doing vanilla, I've got the runeword patch installed. That's the only thing besides ATMA that I have, I basically just want to get the semi-online experience (Ladder runewords and ability to transfer while still relying on my own devices to actually obtain and make items).

Zweihanders are great swords.

I cleaned up my gomule unsorted stash this week, and some shinies stood out:

@KO Bossy 1.13 should have the same drops as 1.14. At least there's no documentend changes. I know some people (sometimes me included) have the impression that drops got nerfed, but unless we do a high amount of runs with a large number of people in both versions and compare the numbers, there's no real way to tell, and it's most likely just bad rng.

Congrats on the Metalgrid btw. One of the 10 or so items in the game that I have never found. CoA is also in that list ...

@Espr That ring didn't seem so special to me ... until I saw the level req :).

@T72on1, I think we've talked about 1.13 and 1.14 drops before. Maybe you are right and it's just RNG, but man it seems like my luck sucks so bad comparatively. I have a ton of screen shots on my laptop from my time playing 1.13 before D3 came out, and my luck seems so much better then compared to now, especially with Runes.
If I have to take another tin foil hat guess at my luck, it seems since the Zod drop I had in the Pits my luck just simply all got used up with that drop. Also, my tin foil hat needs some antennae. I used to change maps every so often when I muled by way of a LAN game with another computer. Since I've been using GoMule I've kept the same maps and maybe a change of drop patterns might help.
I had some statistics classes in college so I am well aware off the need for a great deal of data to make a decent interpretation, but that RNG is gonna cause me to start punching babies.

Well another little goodie in preparation for the MFO, this time a little more useful than the last. ;)
