Is there a zone with a bigger chance of charm drops?

Exactly. You run LK for the HRs, but even if you don't get the big stones, you'll get a whole lot of charms/jewels/gems. I've collected quite a few skillers and other nice charms that way.

Depends on the charm you're looking for... I like NM Flayer Jungle for skillers.

Council has pretty good drop rates for them as well - About 1/100 per member, meaning a charm in ten runs or so (of each size)

In fact there are six special chests. Check out the LK running thread for how to find them and the 1/65K chance to get a high rune

Everything is good for charms in lk, logs, skellies, bodies, stashes and chests, so pop them all on the way to the special chests. You'll get a nice stock of gems too. If you are not after high runes do it at p7-8.

is that rune drop chance per enemy up to my MF....i have 310 MF...do i still get 1/100 per enemy?

MF doesn't effect rune drops.

MF only affects the chance of an item dropping as magic/rare/set/unique. It has no effect on how many items drop or which item types drop.

Another (related) question:
Are *Nightmare* LK's charm drops good enough to be useful in Hell difficulty? Or are they too weak? Capped at a certain level/power? Just so I don't waste my time.

NM LK is area level 52, and skillers start to pop up in lvl 50 so it could give you skillers. Actually, in NM LK only GCs you cannot find is vita GCs, 31-35 sustenance GCs and 8-12 Lucky GCs. All other GCs could drop.

I only give you information about GC as i think you are after them however if you want information about SCs and LGs as well you can look at Arreat Summit--> Charms and you could find lots of useful information.

I'd settle for less than skillers in LK. But then how come I'm at my 20th NM LK run and the best I got is a "+1-2 Fire Damage" charm?

Good choice, but I'd run in Hell. In the long run it'll pay off, as you get a chance of a Lo, Sur and Ber on /p3. Don't expect something good to drop after only 20 runs though. It'll take more for skillers do drop, let alone hrs.

You really need to be specific about what charms you are looking for. Check out the summit for levels on the mods you're looking for. I really don't have an area that I could suggest to run specifically for charms, other than an area that has lots of regular monsters that you can run on /players 7 or 8. That's why I recommend Flayer Jungle... but there's lots of other areas with dense packs of monsters.

People are recommending LK because on Hell difficulty you can get some high end rune drops. They're talking about 1000's of runs... not 20.

Most end game charms can drop at lvl 50... which the Flayer jungle just happens to hit. Your +11% resist small charms, and your skillers are there. That doesn't mean that they're going to drop even in 100 full clears. Charms are hard to find good ones.

Best advice I can give you is to just keep playing the game and mule charms. If you really want to speed up the process, use the 3xPG cube recipie to re-roll them.

Yeah, forget NM LK. If you want to collect a lot of good charms you're looking at least hundreds, probably thousands of runs, and if you're going to spend your time on doing that you might as well do it in Hell LK where you at least have a chance of finding a high rune.

When I run LK, I collect all flawless gems and, along with checking for good charms, I keep at least one of the crappy charms in my stash. I cube up the flawless gems to perfect as I'm able, and when I get three pgems I reroll the crappy charm. Alternatively, you could just stash all the flawless gems and then have a big cubing spree as a break from LK.

As Rhone advised, I cubed up some spare charms.
But I'd now like to know (as the Arreat Summit>Charms doesn't say) this:
If I know the base charm's *ilvl*, what charms can or cannot spawn in the Cube from it? Are there charms I'll never get if I cube a charm of a too low ilvl?
