5soc Rune Master w/zerkbarb

So I got this 5-socket Rune Master ax and I'm thinking about using it with a zerkbarb but can't decide what to socket it with. I'm playing PvM on the ladder and I'm not real rich. I've got a few 25-30% ED jewels I could use or some amns for leach. Considering I'm a zerk barb, I expect to be taking some damge. Would socketing with 5 amns for 35% LL be a good idea?

My game strategy will be to max Warcry and Zerk, stunning and slashing as I go (Hope it works. never tried a build like this before). Ill probably equip with gaze and SS for damage reduction and duriels for the resists until I find a better armor.

aim for IAS. the 11-frame bp is at 105%. here's what i would put:

-3x shael > 60%
-2x ed jewels

then wear 20ias gloves, highlords, and either put an ias jewel somewhere else to hit 11 frames, or use nosferatu's; the slow enemy % helps quite a bit. or you could put in a fourth shael and wear dungos.

as for leech -- i thought leech doesn't work with zerk? because it deals magical damage and not physical? if i'm right then amns would be a colossal waste of sockets, lol.

If your are maxing warcry,why use a wep/shield setup.Go with a two hander,dr can be got from armors like levi or shaft,you must use arreats.This should be helpful.

That sounds like a good idea, although loosing chance to block seems like a lot of sacrifice, but I've already begun dumping dex into the one I've started. My next build will be a 2-handed maybe a bonehew which probably has more physical damage than about any other unique weapon in the game. I imagine that would make for a nice zerk damage bonus! I just picked up a 22 DR Levi for an um and I've already got a Verdungos so I should be able to get 35 DR or so.

Anyone else have any luck with 2-handed zerk? What kind of damage you doing?

My upped ribby barb does ~4500-7200 dmg-avg of 5800 on non criritcals.I pack 59% chance of double damage with wrath,gores & mastery so 5850*1.59=9301(gross avg dmg per hit) & 4.5k life.I have maxed warcry & only gloams give me some irritation,thats it everything else gets stunned & falls, uniques & champs go down real quick to my magic damage.

Not just me as I said,some folks have built hardcore charcters with warcry zerkers with weapons like upped steeldriver.
