23 Runeword Search Thread

Wanted to let everyone know that I put up the auction of the NonScocket mule items from the USEast account. http://forums.rpgforums.net/showthread.php?p=2813897#post2813897

As I mentioned, I probably won't be able to handle to closing part of this auction, so if any of the volunteers from the East side can check up on it in the evening hours in case anybody happens to bid, and handle the few possible trades that'd be great.

And Wathombe, completely agree I have no idea what happened this Tuesday.

You may want to try to do some norm forge runs. I can usually pull an orb outta one of these (not to mention a rune) but i havent been finding any orbs lately. For some reason i usually find the orbs in act2... arcane sanct, viper temple, tals tomb. Mebbe this will help and keep plugin on those orb tests!

I don't think using HELs for such things is a good idea until we're significantly past HEL+HEL in all 2OS testing areas. I have a handful of orbs on the old mule account, just whisper me.

Take your time with the orbs by doing other pages of the spreadsheet. Set the runes for the orb tests aside and use the remaining ones for hammers and such. The orbs will drop eventually, stop competing with Andy.
 
I could never compete with Andy, that guy is a machine. I just wanna do the rest of the "likely" 2 soc Orb tests.

well i'm not a machine, but i try. 2 socket bone wands are easily found for me so it's an unfair competetion if it was. plus i get lucky when things do drop :thumbsup: call it karma. just keep testing and good things will drop. do it for the cause and not for individual gain =p (i mentioned that to someone, as he was curious why i needed so many lem runes, and he thought i was nice, he gave me free lems to help ) :thumbsup: but yah, anything else i find, i trade off. much more of a trader than an actual rune finder
 
One idea. Perhaps we should have a single page keeping track of all 2OS runewords and attempts in every item. IOW, if ELD+EL has been tried in armor, all four helms, the three shields and every type of weapon (class-specific and otherwise) then it could be eliminated from any contention and we can focus elsewhere.

Sort of like:

EL+EL=none
ELD+EL=none
TIR+EL=sword/axe/mace
NEF+EL=none
ETH+EL=none
ITH+EL=20of23

And so on. Then we only need to find those three that ITH+EL hasn't been tested in to know it's not a runeword at all. Gives us a bit of confidence that we've removed it from all tests.

Thanks to Remlin, LiquidFury, and a couple others... we had some good luck doing andy, meph, baal, and cows in successive games. Hope to keep it up...

Dern right. It was nice to be able to spam find item without worrying about people with cheats auto-grabbing everything out of them (Though I do tend to be a little greedy and quick on the grab as a result of playing public with these kinds of people). More tomorrow, hopefully. And lemme know if I'm taking too much.

one final attempt :-( i got alot of stuff to donate, send me an AIM (lostservant17) or whisper on bnet (Be-Were) i got a bunch of runes and sockets to give the mules (Hardcore ladder Useast) also if anyone wants to, i find TONS of mid lvl uniques and sets that could be easily traded for runes from the thul to io-lum range, but cause i have limited mule space and whatnot i throw most of it away... if anyone wants to make a hardcore trading mule, ill start keeping it and donating so someone else can do trades :-/

Both accounts made so far (one of which was rebuilt) are softcore, so you must specifically contact *darnocpdx or *preistly_d for assistance or participate in the hunt yourself, otherwise there's not much we can do for hardcore.

Any thoughts, Andy?

I'm willing to take the runes with a fresh character and, with some financial aid (just need some gold to buy a first item), fill the 2 socket grids. I can't manage to contact Be-Were on battle.net though, and I don't have AIM (don't want to install it either).
 
it is true there aren't much hardcore ladder players. maybe they can just test out runes themselves. if they can't, then i can start holding runes or something. maybe a new account for someone to test on. ill throw socket items if i find them too maybe
