Sure about that? Someone mentioned that they went to town and had to wait a few seconds before they could click the hostile button.

Nightmare mode has been a breeze. No IM to worry about in WsK or the Chaos Sanctum means your merc goes back to being a superior meatshield.

Colored runes are really nice and easy to spot.

So far the Sorceress is the only class I've seen past normal Act 2, Teleport be damned!

Sorry about that, there were a lot of messages being sent back and forth.

Everyone I'm playing with is only at Nightmare Baal/Act 1 Normal anyways, so don't worry. I should be back online tomorrow and I don't mind rushing or whatever. :)

Nick and I just tested.
There definitely is a hostile delay when entering a TP.
However, there does not appear to be any delays when running in/out of town. So still have to be careful around town entrances.

I dunno, I've seen lots of people on the b.net forums claiming to have tested it and it works. I assume you tested manually, if so I can think of a handful of ways off the top of my head that Blizzard could have added a delay to prevent manual TPPK without doing a thing to prevent a script from doing it. On the other hand the complaints could just be an echo chamber, I haven't had time to hop on to see for myself yet.

Me and Myk tested it and when he went through the Tp to hostile me it said somthing to him along the lines of "you must wait a few seconds before going hostile" . I tried to hostile him to see the message but my manual Pk skills are no longer working , but my Blizzard seemed to disappear when I hit hostile...

No IM - return of the Pike Whielding barbarians ???

Im gonna be gaming a lot Friday so more testing will be conducted at that time....

TPPK:

If you open a TP and immediately jump in and hostile it stops you and makes you wait a while.
Though, that's great for third party software that does things nearly instant, but someone can still manually TPPK. I had someone hit me with an Ice Blast in normal.
If they could only adjust that waiting time to be slightly longer it would be closer to perfect than anything before it...

I was playing the part of the 'victim' so basically I was just standing there trying to die. All I know is what Nick told me.

You start the game with 0 cash and 2 TP scrolls. As you can imagine, our manual tppk skills aren't that great. So first we tried manual "run back to town pk". The timing was awkward, but the behavior of the ice blasts seemed to change when he entered town. His hostile skills were slow, but instead of sailing past, the blasts seemed to pop, or poof as soon as they hit me. Almost as if they were being removed so that they couldn't damage me. This was only tested the once, so certainly nothing firm here (could have easily been an optical delusion).

Next we decided to open a TP and try to hostile immediately after entering it (without the added complication of firing missiles first). This was tested twice, the results were apparently:
1) "You must wait a short while to hostile that player"
2) "Impossible"

At that point, we decided that they had added a hostile timer and celebrated. Nick hostiled from town, charged across the bridge and PK'd me. I left the game, went to find more beer, talked to PT and Myk briefly, and almost instantly became bored of playing a level 99 character through act 1 normal.

Maybe we're not the most patient and thorough testing scientist, but unless Nick was outright lying to me about what he was experiencing, as a joke, it does appear that they have added a hostile timer.

so far sounds good. im really excited about some of the change, most notably the free respec. 2nd favorite, the removal of IM :).

i really do they fix the tppk hack though, i think hardcore public games can be revived if its fixed and with the release of this new patch.

i been d2ing for 5 hours last night. wish i did something more producive then killing gauss. but i did, got to nm :O and server down now, so no more ears :(
