I. INTRODUCTION
Hello, everybody! This tournament is for all the players out there looking to join the SPF Ladder, while giving them an incentive to pound Mephisto silly for a few weeks to build up a solid mid-level item base. This is designed to be a fun, fair tournament to noobs, B.Net convertees, and crusty old SPF veterans alike.
Go join the SPF Ladder and plan out that perfect Meteorb, or Blizztress, or FWer. Perhaps that Fishymancer instead? Oh, no, you want to really go off the page and start a Trapsin, no a Fishyzon, no a WW barbarian. Now you're just getting crazy. Whatever you ultimately decide upon, stick with it, kick Mephs butt a million times (or the Pits/AT/etc if you prefer) and hopefully you'll find some great items and maybe win a few prizes while you're at it.
Good luck to everyone, and may the first Ladder tournament be a success! Oh, and all your SUs are belong to me.
1. TIMEFRAME
a. The tournament shall start on March 23rd, 2010, as soon as 1.13 final is released, and end on April 25th, 2010.
2. BASIC RULES
a. You may (re-)run any area at any time and at any player setting without restriction. This is not single-pass by any means.
b. The player must be declared on the correct Ladder (HC/SC FAM/Vanilla) prior to participation within the tournament.
c. There shall be two (2) separate prize-pools: HC (Vanilla+FAM) and SC (Vanilla+FAM). This seems to be the most fair way of splitting the Ladder, without leaving only a few entrants into a given bracket.
d. All Ladder rules must be followed.
e. There is no restriction to Multiplay, except those outlined in the Ladder rules. However, don't allow the tournament to supercede the common courtesy of MP play. If another player in the game doesn't have the Tal's Amulet that just dropped, be a nice guy/gal and let him/her have it instead.
f. At the end of the tournament, everyone will be required to either send me a copy of their Flavie report, or a copy of their stashes (preferably Flavie report) for final scoring. The end results will be posted a few days after the tournament has ended (depending on my time demands). My email address will be posted when the end date nears.
e. Players may enter the tournament at any time. Obviously, the later one waits to join, the less time one has to run, so joining early is to everyone's benefit.
3. CHARACTERS
a. All characters must be untwinked (starting with zero (0) items, and never using items not found by the character) and are required to be part of the current Ladder for participation.
b. There are no class nor build restrictions.
c. There is no restriction to the number of characters allowed per entrant; however, items found by a specific character are only counted toward that character's total.
4. SCORING
a. The base score shall be the total tabulation of different sets+uniques (SUs) found with the character. This counts each SU only once, in the case of multiples.
b. Bonus points shall be awarded for reaching the following goals:
5. FEES AND PRIZES
a. There shall be no entry fee for this tournament.
b. Prizes are awarded as follows for each category:

* With the advent of 1.13 and re-speccing, builds can be somewhat more fluid than they used to be. Please list your intended build for the majority of the characters life during the Tournament, not your starting and/or long-term build. This is not set in stone, and may be changed at any time during the tournament.
