Are you sure with that? Isn't it that you just had CAPSLOCK active or something? It would be a terrible bug.shermo said:I found a change!
You can no longer give yourself mana pots by pressing 1-4 while holding down the shift key.
Your merc says "i can't use that" and nothing happens.
Pressing 1-4 gives the pot to your character. That goes for anything in your belt--red, purple, blue, TPs, whatever.shermo said:You can no longer give yourself mana pots by pressing 1-4 while holding down the shift key.

When you hold shift down it gives the thing on your belt to the merc instead. Only reds and purples can be used in this way.
I'm pretty sure it's always been like that.

I'm going to add a couple to that list:
1) the Fend bug,
2) the Charge bug,
3) the Leap bug,
4) any changes to the 1.10 drop rates, and
5) the effect of mercenary XPing?
6) the Andy quest drop bug
7) Peace ctc Valk: Is is bugged on characters as well
In 1.10 for me, if I drank a mana potion while holding the shift key, the merc said "Thank you," but my mana filled up.DurfBarian said:When you hold shift down it gives the thing on your belt to the merc instead. Only reds and purples can be used in this way.

On the back of the CD it says I could play SP, up to 8 players over TCP/IP or Battle.net. Nowhere does it say they would selectively treat Battlenet users more favourably. Nowhere is indicated that they would develop extra's for Battlenet and explicitly code in exclusions to deny SP users the same functionality. Blizzard had to do extra work to remove features for SP and that bites. Thus with less effort and lower costs, they could have satisfied more gamers - and they didn't take that approach. Thus, in my eyes they have failed dismally in the support department. I expect and demand equal treatment. If I'd known up front they they discriminate against SP in this way I never would have purchased their game no matter how good it is.
My gripe is not with Blizzard adding new features over 5 years (that's a good thing). My gripe is that they actually make special effort to exclude my chosen method of playing the game, a pretext they sold the game to me on in the first place. THAT's why Blizzard will never get another $ out of me. It's called integrity and fairness, concepts apparently unknown at Blizzard. It's not like they haven't been told, but sadly, it's fallen on deaf ears and blind eyes.

1.11 Questions to be answered.

Very annoying

If you can't do this in 1.11 then it's a real shame.
My understanding is that you can still give your merc red and purple pots using the shift-belt hotkey. Before when you gave them blue pots this way, you drank them instead. (Which meant the casters didn't have to take their hand of the shift key to drink a mana pot.) Now when you give your merc a mana pot this way, nothing happens.bill_n_opus said:I don't know about you guys but this is the way you give your merc a potion (red, blue, purple) without having to drag it into the char window.
