Speculation: as per Blizzard's common botching procedures some newbie working on Battle.net presses the wrong button and wipes all realms clean of characters.

Well, they may not have been intending on every single WW Barb in existence having eBotDs and Grief Zerkers. Rust storms on a biweekly or at least monthly basis would be a nice feature.

What's CTA? Wait, looked it up... I can actually make that now ;) I wasn't saying I was godly, but I usually hold my own really well in PVP, unless a stupid barb shows up with 2 ebotdz axes and WW the **** out of me. *shrug*

I can't wait to see what the down time does... a friend of mine is hellbent on thinking the patch isn't coming out today. Is this possible?

I'm going to finish this transfer and go play some Quake2. You might find me on TastySpleen or other mid-Atlantic servers.
 
The only real "facts" we can be certain of are that 1.11 is coming and that it features a new boss named Lilith. Otherwise it seems unlikely that they would reset ladder without notice and even less likely to me that they would introduce a patch without resetting the ladder. Think about all the people who are already whining about losing their ladder status. If Bliz just dumped all their characters into NL where the economy is very different without giving them a chance to prepare, I think they'd have a legitimate gripe.

All that has been said by Blizzard is that there is maintenance today. This was announced before they announced patch 1.11.

The closest thing we have to facts on the patch is an apparent leak by a Chinese site whose facts appear to be somewhat iffy. They knew about Lillith before Blizzard announced it though so they've definitely been talking to someone in the know. They also said that the patch is coming in August so I think we can at least expect it to come out soon, but not today with no notice whatsoever.

Today they're likely doing a rust storm and cleaning things up in preparation for the huge influx of players that will be the result of a new patch. I speculate that the patch may be out in less than two weeks but today just doesn't make sense.

i gotta accept ur opinion.
i remember the times there was only d1 or d2, without the exp. i used 2 enter blizzard every time i was close 2 a cpu. i think we are makin a big deal from this patch. blizz aint stupid. they wont release somethin big without takin money on it.
WHY DA **** THEY AINT DOIN DIII? biggest mistake of thier lives... they could earn huge cash on us diablo lovers...

in conclusion, i guess dat like 1.10 we will have to sell like 9999 anni 2 meet lillith or somethin like dat. same for the huge Udiablo we all saw in the pics.
and another thing, it could be cool if they'll revive THE BUG from d1. or the skeleton king... Huge idea...

what rest of ya think?
 
Bnet went down just now, I checked the ladders right before it did and they were blank, so Its either lag or they are resetting.... cya in four..

I don't know if anyone's brought this up but, seeing as everyone is speculating that lilith is linked with diablo, you think killing her could trigger udiablo or something?
 
I think you have no clue what you're talking about. For all you and I know they are working on DIII. And you deserve to be n00bed for saying all Blizz cares about is money. I won't take the effort to write up an essay on how I hate people who flame stuff they no clue about because you don't deserve the effort. I personally wouldn't buy DIII if they never did anything for DII because it would show they don't care about their gamers, but they are and they do. And Lillith is a random monster and all "dat". Same with UberD, which I have no clue how you think you have to sell 9999 anni's to get it because it is RANDOM.

P.S. The monsters were in DI and will probably stay there.

I'm checking right now to see if the maintenance is in effect. Can't wait to find out if the new patch comes out in 4 hours or not.
 
Things Justin will do during 4 hour realm down...

1. Take a nice, long shower
2. Reheat two day old pizza
3. Finish watching "You Got Served"
4. Pilates
5. Finish building a bench

On second thought, no. That sounds really dumb.
