Shako doesn't match. Only checked a few items, though.

I kinda want to rack a schaeffer's and other items that can only be racked so it would be helpful if someone can figure out which of these items can't be dropped in LK. I already got cranium basher in nihl's room but I hope I don't have to go there for too many items.
 
I'm almost there, I have TC and qLvl sorted I think.

culwen's point 100% is (decent mule weapon if you want +skills on a crappy char), as well as tarnhelm. I'm pretty sure Lenymo is as well but I'm unsure about the others.

I realize I have a bajillion eld runes, a decent number of amethysts and jewels so I'm now crafting (lesser) caster boots.

*shrug*

Maybe i'll get something useful. Of course, the limitation is always 30-40 FRW minimum for me (in 1.07) but there are some nice results so far... they give %max mana, mana regen and +mana. I've seen a few pairs of boots so far with +50 mana which is pretty cool!
 
What is a good setup for a whirlwinder in travincal?

i plan using bulkathos swords, tals armor (mdr resis), guillaumes, mavinas belt, LoH, Sanders boots (40 frw),

jewelry i dont know, prolly bloodcrafts and amulet i dont have a nice one, so the best trash i find
 
arkaine's is a much better armor if you can get it. IT gives you an insane life boost, as well as skills :D

If you have bloodrings those are ideal, but if not then dwawrfstar is ok for the mdr + goldfind + life/res or whatever.

amulet would be either saracen's for amp dmg, or HLW for frw/skills/lite res iirc.

Boots can be improved marginally if you want more cold/lite res by using natalya's boots. You can also use war trav for MF or goblin toe for CB. Alternatively, make some blood boots if you're sitting on some sol runes :D

I highly recommend a rogue merc with a (fast base) safety bow that has amp dmg on it. Boost ias as high as you can w/ sockets, walk wing, etc.

Ideal setup for merc imo is tal's armor, valk wing, amazing bow and use the minimum number of sockets to reach max ias (iirc 120)

Merc will rarely die if you use BO and have a well on your run over to council, and if you are using leap to jump up rather than the stairs. Merc will shoot like 2.5x per sec @ 5% chance which is ~13% chance to amp their target. Trust me, this will save lots of time if you are aiming for a long term project and is simply less annoying than having to use zerk sometimes (Toorc mostly). Occasionally, my merc would be cornered by a council member and would kill it herself, which is nice. i'm sure the poison dmg helped with that a bit. Also, use a fire rogue and hire it in normal. Yes, this will be annoying to level but the good thing about 1.07 is mercs level insanely fast (they need like 40k exp per level at ~90)

edit: You want your switch to be wizzy (MF, fcr) + some other offhand thing for MF, fcr, gold find, or whatever. Mine used a gull dagger for a long time but eventually upgraded to 2x lem (gold find) blade of ali baba once I found it. I'm sitting on 450 million gold to gamble atm...

edit2: the nice thing about trav barb in 1.07 is you can customize it quite a bit. Long term, the only thing that's every going to kill you (I play HC) is MSLE + conviction, which does happen occasionally. Usually Toorc. Under such conditions you can take 5k dmg per sec (not kidding), and I had some mdr and stacked lite res as well. So, while I use GF swords for way more safety, it's not necessary. You can also use shako.

the other nice thing about the barb is that with just a tiny bit of MF, after a few thousand runs you're pretty much guaranteed to get 1+ of each useful exceptional unique (SoE, valk wing, skullder's, vamp gaze) which can save you some time from racking them yourself.

Pretty sure MF still helps even outside of the breakpoints. I recall that you can get ~90% set drops, for example, which suggests that it's not just a single value that means 100% or near-zero % of a specific quality roll.

*shrug* I could be wrong but I doubt it. I think MF is probably less effective than you would expect, though, outside of breakpoints we know about
 
well, the nice thing is that if you get 1000 drops from some base item, you get an unique as expected value.

at least i think it's that way, maybe a few drops less, if mf has any effect (and mlvl maybe)

but maybe im mixing with 1.06

Defeated Baal on Hell with my sorceress, carried my lower chars with, so the result is:
Sorrily I couldn't get the ancients quest for the other 2 chars (they stayed in town and didnt got it), but that's not a biggy.

Cow-Level here we go

One of rusher has to be on the AS to get the quest. They can be dead.

Best tip I was given (from frozzzen) was, after the first run through, rush 7 more sorcs. Then if you get a good rack, you can park it with the character for future needs.
 
You need sorc + 1 other character on the AS. Re-host with the son and barb and do it again. Rushees will get to level 51/52.
 
My Zon is already lvl 65, I will take ancients with 98.

I only equipped some frw stuff and guillaumes and a 100%ed javelin, this mowed through those cows

Or indeed never, because ancients exp is neglible if I rush 6 other chars to 99 (all other classes, apart from Zon)

And maybe even some Zons to get a GMB from Anya

This is actually great advice, definitely gonna do this at some point. One of those "why-didn't-I-think-about-this-sooner"-things.
