I'm pretty sure that was just by accident and the rack didn't drop stable, since I tested it on a rack where I got Divine Scepters 100% of the time (90 out of 90), and it didn't change the drop when I casted TP before clicking the rack. Would be great if it did work though:smiley:

Finally I found a rack that drops 100% Zerkers when I get the right path...problem is, I have to teleport once across the whole map, than rack the weapon rack in the first super chest hut, then open the chest, then leave the hut, cut north to the next bonfire, have to keep right of it and enter the next superchest hut left of the pole. Voilà - a Zerker drops!:grin:

oh, btw, am now level 59, racked accidentially a String of Ears and a M'Avina's Tenet.

The Prefix is Sharp. What would be the maximum Damage one could get? Is it 40 on a Serrated GC of Maiming?

Well, I did some testing. I have 3 racks right beside my WP(all stable). If I grab the weapon rack to the right of my WP, I get 2-handed swords. If I cast a TP before I rack it, I still get 2-handed swords. I have a bonfire above my WP. I tele up and open 2 of the special chests and then rack a Balrog skin (done 1000 racks of this, very stable... one Arkane so far!). If I cast a TP before I rack the armor, it changes to a Hydraskull (have done this 10 times and got a hydraskull each time). So, after racking my Balrog skin, I tele over to the weapon rack, and yuk, it is a Vouge rack ... I racked this about 20 times and it was stable. If I instead, cast a TP before I do the weapon rack, it changes to a Champion Sword ... I racked this by casting a town portal about 200 times (until I got Doom). I tried teleing to other racks and looting them with and without casting a TP and they seemed to be droping the same thing and not changing. I am not sure if poping the special chests did anything or not, but when I re-roll my LK map I will check

I found a +35 damage GC I posted in here about 2 weeks ago. I am dieing to try it out on a character :)

And I found a +19 Serrated GC, so +40 seems to be the correct number, as stated in the addendum. I just didn't find the Prefix "Sharp" in the addendum...

Perhaps casting a TP only minorly changes the seed, and only affects the racks that are close to changing to a different item. I don't know if this is actually the case in the mechanic, but I've been thinking of it as a certain range that causes a certain item. ie you don't have to replicate the EXACT same seed, but just something close, and that maybe just some particular racks/items/tc's are more finicky than others. But that's just me assuming that human error would cause at least SOME deviation run to run, and yet still get the same results.

Re, the hydra v crusader bow - is it confirmed that you can get 300+ED on a crusader bow? I just ask because its got a lower qlvl.... otherwise you are right - it is better for the reasons you listed (which is something I'd missed until now).

Seems you can get the cruel affix on a crusader bow. I gambled for this one and crafted it with a lvl85 char.

Does anyone know what chances for ehtereal, superior and socketed items each are? Is the 5% chance for being ethereal true for 1.07, too? Just wanted to know how much runs I have to expect for ethereal superior socketed items...probably too much:rolleyes:

I think for both superior and eth. the chances are 1:20.
I've kept track of the eth.-non eth. ratio, wich seemed to be 1:20. Not sure about the superior, but i guestimate that it's also 1:20 from my experience.

+max dmg charms... :rolleyes: Haven't found anything that nice yet. Only good ones were +10-12 on medium charms.

Question: FO/Static Sorcs
What does everyone put pts into after 20 Orb, 20 Static, 20 Tele? Do you go for a fire skill or just pump CM a bit?

20 Orb, 20 Static, 10+ CM, 1+ Tele, 1+ Warmth. +3 cold skills orb & Milbraga's Orb/Lower Resist wand & Sigon's Shield on switch. Prayer merc w/Kelpie Snare. 3 os PTopaz hats and 4 os PTopaz armor each for your bargain basement MF FO sorc. By the time you get to Hell LK/Durance, you'll be able to run for sets off the Council and uniques off Andy & Meph after loading up on additonal MF trikets + charms with relative ease.

My MF sorc is very poor, but it decent fun running the aforementioned targets. Kelpie Snare provide 50% FR for the merc, which goes a long way in increasing his survivability against the Council.

Anyway, I've been running nm lk + travi lately, and while lk still refuses to drop a golden valk wing, I've been extremely lucky with random lk packs + travi, not in a sence taht I've aquired high end items like 30 life pcombat skillers or +40 max dam charms, but I've been getting what I've needed/been lookign for. The last 2 days travi dropped rattlecage, goblin toe and mavinas belt! :grin: I'm overloaded with excitment and happyness.
Btw my goblin toe's does have 25 cb, is teh addenum wrong o this or have I accidently upgraded to 1.11 without it showing in game, or what? :P

Anyway. If you don't see why those items are so special (well, mavinas belt should explain itself, I cantbelieve it dropped from nm travi while I've been hoping for a sharkskin belt rack) I'll explain; between rattlecage, goblin toe's, guil's face and my blood gloves, I'm able to reach 94(!!)% CB, just a few more levels to get teh str for guil's and a nice greater blood craft I will be at or really, really close to 100%CB on my bowazon :grin: That should be a real powerhouse in 1.07, right? I'll just need a nice fast attack speed and my multishot will wave over the screen :jig: (I'm overdosing on happy smiley's, but I still can't believe I found rattle/goblin/mavs within 48 hours)

I've also found some nice charms, a lit skiller, some 13~18 gc's of maiming, and 2 (iirc) interesting SC's, I don't have a screenie as I'm on an internet cafe, but I remember their stats, one has +2minimum damage and +2 maximum damage which I just found neat for some reason, and snother one that is just plain awsome, +5 maximum damage and fhr!

So when I get home I'll try to make my amazon able to wear guil's face (btw I realised that you can str bug in 1.07 yesterday, tried to use the +15 on guil's face to wear itself) and push her trough the game.

What gear should I acompliment my cb gear with? I'll be using mav's belt to make up for the lack of frw on the boots, but what about amu/rings and bow? I'm still hoping for angelics set jewelery since that would really make my life easier, actually hitting enemies is kinda essential for a cb char, but I only have 1 ring so far. Bow: I'm still looking for a nice psn / 6/0 os bow to put peme's in, or the runes/bow for 1.07 death. Any pointers on where to find angelics/mentioned bows, or maybe an idea for a substitute?
I cannot reach the 556 (or what it is) mf bp with my sorc yet, and I have had terrible luck with the hf drops so far.

I have a act 2 offensive merc with my amazon, though the ar/dmg would benefit her greatly, but he just dies all the time, really all the time, he's hopeless, not at all like my sorceress' sturdy barbarian, should I get a barb for my zon as well? or maybe a iron wolf/rouge?

I better stop before I tie a knot with my fingers :hide:

I think superior is around 1:10.Ive heard RTB mention it and also the last rack i ran(col sword) i got 3 eth superior ones in around 350 runs.Also eth is defiantly 1:20

With my 1.07 Bowzon, I went with Act3 Cold Merc. Without tele, I found it hard keeping the mele merc's alive. The Act3 cold merc also acted as more crowd control for me.

I used an A1 Ice merc w/Nef in a bow for help w/bosses. Riphook is great, but Skystrike w/Nef is fine as well as a fast bow (Razor Bow, Blade Bow) w/Orts or PTopaz or whatever.

Your CtC flee w/Rattlecage will take care of crowd control pretty well. With all your CB, I'd go for a fast Hawkeye/Weird/Fool's bow, socket it with PEmeralds, and go to town. CtC flee + Poison is great, and with all that CB, don't worry about physical damage.

Don't hold your breath for "Death"--the Lem and Dol runes don't drop very easily. It makes a 1.07 Bowazon great for running cows w/o a EU or uber-crafted bow, but it is slow for questing.

My only concern w/your set-up is resists, esp against LE bosses w/CE, FE, cursed, or conviction. Those bolts will tear you in two.

Sharp isn't in the addendum because it is from a different range of affixes (+dmg and AR as opposed to straight +dmg).

I think you are looking at the first version of the addendum where I miscopied the stats of goblin toes and thought the cb was missing. This is corrected in the second version (linked to on the first page of this thread - update your bookmarks!). I keep meaning to update it with some of the things I've learned since writing it (GMBs for example) but haven't got around to it yet (I will one day though).

The TP thing indeed is interesting - I think I agree with Espr that it might change the seed 'a little bit' which in some cases is enough to change the drop and in others not (same with picking up misc items) depending on how close to changing the rack is anyway - although I've never noticed TPs to make a rack change its drops before.

Thanks to Jaedhann for confirming that crusader bows can get cruel. Good work.

Re mercs, it is possible to keep an act 2 merc alive, but its not easy (and IMHO not worth the effort) - MDR and PDR are your friends here (and possibly charges of lifetap - has anyone tested if this works for mercs yet?). Personally I'd stick with A1 fire, A3 cold and A5 mercs.

And congratz to all of you finding cool stuff - care to share some of that luck with me? :grin: The best thing I've found recently is a ribby - which is very different in 1.07 and not nearly as cool as its later counterpart, not too bad for a cold sorc though with the +3 cold skills.

Oh, my eyes! That thing is terrible. As fas as A2 mercs go, they are very hard to keep alive w/o AoE stunners/slowers. My Assassin has few problems w/CoS keeping the Might merc alive, FOrb helps out the Meditation merc. I think Shockwave would do just fine with a BA or Might merc and Dim Vision/Decrep should help out your Zookeepers.

But for Zons, paladins, and barbs, an A1 Fire or Ice merc seems like the safe choice. Zons tend to run and reposition and the merc follows, Paladins and Barbs need some range help on bosses/PIs after dealing with the scrubs. I actually like hte Ice merc better because they don't try to engage stuff they can't reach with the short range on the ice arrow.

Anyone have good luck w/the Barbs? I used one with my FOrb sorc until I couldn't make any progress in Hell A4 and ran out of ressurection money. I think I'll try one on a 1.07 version of the Town Dump druid that's use Isenhart's/Hwanin's/Immortal King's sets just to see how it works. Theoretically, Shockwave + two fast heavy hitters + 5 Spirit Wolves=lots of dead non-PIs. IK Maul should take care of the PIs.

In other news, I found a +23% ED/+9-16 fire damage jewel, my best combat jewel so far. I think this may go in the in my crafted Feral Axe after I craft it to get 250% ED or GIAS. Still need to find Orts--I ran out of them less than a week before the crafting competition was posted.

@ Zarfen: I had trouble reaching the 556% mark myself. Did you see yiuman's post about the 'ghetto' 556% MF setup?

3 Ptopaz helm and 4 Ptopaz armor, for both you and your merc nets 340% MF, so you're only left with 216%. (196% if you use Milabrega's Orb) Personally, I found a lot of the partial set bonuses quite useful in making up the rest.

Angelic wep/ammy/ring - 50% **
Arctic belt/gloves - 40%
Tancred's wep/ammy - 78%
Vidala's ammy/Boots - 50%

** I didn't test whether this worked or not, but I assume you could wear 2 angelic rings and get 100%.

I didn't get any help from charms, so I just kept running meph on NM for itmes/gold and gambled some good MF rings to get the last few percent.

Edit: I've got some extra 32% MF boots if you need them. But, I was able to just shop some 35%. They weren't too hard to find.

That is indeed the one :rolleyes:

Whilst it sucks compared to its mellee version in 1.09+, its not all that terrible for a cold sorc - particularly for the +3 cold skills at level 31 (of course, if you get a staff/orb with +3FOrb, +3CM, +cold skills then thats better, but I've never seen anything anywhere near that good) and the FCR is a little bonus on it. Its certainly a viable NM stick.

Re MF, the partial MF bonus on Tancreds comes from the amulet, so pairing up the amulet with the boots is another option. I just like the weapon as its hard to find another weapon with a MF bonus - Gull (50%), Ali baba (35%) and Azurewraith (10% on a crystal sword) are IIRC the only options and as they aren't great compared to their 1.09+ counterparts, I personally don't really want to spend the time racking them (of course if one dropped in the course of the game I wouldn't complain).

@Galtwish: Nice jool! Although, if you get a Feral axe with decent ED, 40IAS and 3 sockets I'd seriously consider putting 3 shaes in it for a 4 frame Fireclaws/Maul.

I've got a lot of time to reroll that one, and GIAS is the #1 priority, so I'll take your advice. it will also be the Berzerk weapon for the Berzerk/Frenzy Ax barb I'm working on after the Assassin. The jewel may go in my new Guillame's Face...

Ghetto MF for the win. Milbraga's is easy to find, getting 2x 20%+ MF rings isn't hard (just cube all your junk ammy's and rings), 30-35% MF boots are easily shoppable, and 20% MF gloves aren't hard to find either. There's ~450% with the PTopaz set up, very low twinkage needed. From there, collect all the 2%+ MF SCs and look for upgrades. Goldwrap is really the final piece needed for the cheap MF set-up, and you're better off killing Hell Andy & Meph to get this because other stuff (like Chance Guard) will drop.

Tancred's is probably the best best for pushing the MF over the top. Finding the boot is hard, though, so I recommend the weapon + ammy. Angelic rings show the bonus in ATMA but do not display in game. I don't think they work, because I have amulet + 2 rinigs on my Cow strafer, and she just gets socketables, runes, jewels, and charms (as she is intended too) with occasional blue class-specific goodies.

Using a LR wand on the bosses first cuts the time to kill in half.

A lot of teleporting, FR/MF boots and gloves, some FR/+life and LR/+life charms.

But mostly a lot of teleporting and splitting packs. LR + spamming static with selective FOrbs makes short work of up to 3 council members at a time. When I ran them for set items with 374% MF, I used a FHR tower shield with 3 Pdiamonds in it and more resist charms. Still died every 10th run or so and spent a lot of dough on the merc. Kelpie Snare is underpowered against the Council, the the 50% FR makes up for it.

I have one 4% MF SC, and found one 4% MF LC which I threw away in disgust. I have about 5 2% MF LCs woth other mods, and 10+ 2% MF SCs, many with other mods (even if it is +1 min damage).
