What I meant is we compare our best rings, not the number of them. Sweet spot is between 170-186 MF for highest drop odds according to german calculator, so ideally anything above 170 to also have better odds at facets.

Dont bother. While I am squarely in the HR desert as of now (i.e. one qualifier in 389 runs with 55% hork) , I am sitting on a treasure trove of ring loot. One such example:
Order Coil
Ring
Required Level: 60

+2 to Strength
+3 to Energy
Level 1 Attract (18/22 Charges)

Of course, one must wait until lvl 60 for such goodness, but imagine the toons you can build this around.

Facet shield is higher damage than Phoenix for any class except Sorc (she has FM and + fire skill damage is only additive with it). But Phoenix has the awesome aura of course. In fact I'm taking a little break from Trav and running the numbers for various setups for Assassin, which is already surprising. Will share it in my recent mat thread in a bit when I'm done.

On the topic of running: I realized yesterday that I was using Silo's Run Counter as if I was measuring average time only. That is after ending a run and restarting it I opened the character and immediately S&E. Sadly I didn't realize that the total time kept running through that. So every time I muled I basically lost 5 seconds to my own stupidity :confused:

I've made the second Grief in a phase blade now. Run speed has definitely improved by a few seconds. The best part is I was able to use a Token and could put 49 less points in strength.

I slightly changed gear again on a sorc and managed to get higher MF breakpoint and better survivability overall. Now I can't find any more upgrades for this approach except to pump more MF and reduce damage.

9 Static Field (nice aim is 14 yards)
13 Cold Mastery
1 Warmth, Teleport, Telekinesis
Optional: 1 in some armor

Merc: eth Steel Shade (Cham), eth Fortitude, Infinity

Blizzard damage: ~8330
MF: 445
Resistances: 150 cold, 167 fire, 201 lightning

Running technique:
Blizzard, spam Static 4-5 times, Blizzard, then spamming Spike or Blast. Third Blizzard if needed, although most of the time everything is dead within few Blasts.

Potential upgrade is in replacing skillers with MF small charms since damage is of low relevance for Travincal, however I'm lazy to check where exactly starts the lower limit of damage when it will actually matter. I assume upgrade would be to use Ist Fathom and remove few skillers for 7MF charms. Perhaps players in the future will explore more into this option. I do think damage is of low relevance once she reaches like 6.5k or whatever, although it is still of some relevance for minor upgrade in killing speed.


[highlight]Why MF?[/highlight]

Travincal is good source of jewelry, good amount of unique items like Titan's Revenge (you do want ethereal) and many more. Most notable item is Rainbow Facet, Travincal is the best place in the game to farm those apart from Mephisto who is only for building basic gear up. So, my logic is why not use this fact to the fullest? Potential drawback is this sorc has lower damage, however comparing this sorc with the one I did best set ever with 9.7k Blizzard damage, they are similarly fast. So, unless player decides to go full damage setup to actually gain 1 second or whatever of running time, having some MF (ideally 170+) does pay better than not having it.

Ignore total time played on that runcounter. I calculated my real total running time from number of runs times average runtime. That is something that can be controlled better. My runcounter usually showed 22 hours of playtime because of the problem you described plus it worked when I muled and didn't run at all, while real playing time was 20 hours.
 
So after a dry streak of 600 runs without a qualifier the council drops a ... rune :eek: Together with that drop I got a unique ring and at this point to me it's already an SoJ :D

So I end the run and open GoMule. I manually remove the items around the the ... rune and the ring wanting to look at the ring last... So doing this I arrive at this lonely Grand Charm and hover the cursor over it:

EDIT: Riddle me this: If I have 5 qualifiers, a score which isn't an integer, get a ... rune and afterwards have an integer score then what rune did I find?

@Gripphon I thought rare amulets could not get +2 all skill in Trav. +2 to a tree still has nice possibilities though of course. My memory may be off though.

If I enter the game in A4 with a Sorc, I can reach the WP directly with TK, zap it and bring up the menu, but if I click the Trav button, nothing happens. I need to take a few steps for it to work. Is this the same for everyone?

Preferring the Barb compared to the Sorc though this time around.

Same here. So far, runes per hour show almost a 2x improvement over cows and the odds say I was unlucky there so I'm hoping my luck picks up some time in the near future.
