2019 Spring RFL Sign-up and Running Thread: 2nd Round

The 5ish minute thing i can confirm is an auto save interval, because when i was experimenting cow runs on my javazon in Round 1, i could never tell what my time was because they were just slightly longer than whatever save process occurs and the Run Counter would always start over before the run was over. If i was paying attention to the run counter before a S/E, it would usually have previous run around 5:15-5:45 and then the next one would be 10-30 seconds, so it must not be an exact timer, but somewhere between 5 and 6 minutes.
Sharp observation there, sir. Every 8192 frames there's an auto-save, so once in about 5 minutes and 27 seconds.

@Vildecor You can alt-tab out of D2 and use the task manager to shut down D2. This way you don't loose your map from an accidental misclick.

@T72on1 @Vildecor Just wanted to add, that I had tried this (I'm on windows 10, but not sure if that's relevant) and thought it didn't work, but figured out you have to "go to process" and "kill process" rather than ending task.

I only remembered this being talked about a few minutes after I began rerolling maps. Maybe I'll get lucky and get a map with an even tighter formation.

@Vildecor remove your 'N' key. Not even kidding :D

I am definitely doing this! Thanks for the suggestion.

Did 8+ hours now, i'll be back in the game on tuesday night probably. By then, try to catch me, i got a pretty solid start with biggies and a full hand already. In fact, you'd better stop right now, except if you want to run for the second places..

Good luck, you'll need some !
Definitely trying to mind trick you buddies !
I'd say anything so you lose confidence and make a pause until round 3, i'll lie if required !!!
hmm... do I ? o_O

Well I got my first 10 runs in and filled my stash so stopped the timer. Averages about 80 seconds per run, but less than 30 to kill and hork The Council. Wasting too much time sorting through the junk that falls obviously :).

On my first attempt to roll a map I got this one, with The Council down in the corner of the balcony. I think this is pretty good but maybe not ideal?

I might join in on this with my untwinked barb, but my old mouse (razer naga 2012) with all the side buttons broke, so I've lost all my muscle memory and I have to figure out how to swap skills now

@Tatterson should I add you to participants already? Yes? :)

One hour down here. Now that I've clock running it seems my 1.07 Travi runs (with Barb) are embarrassingly long. Not because I kill them so slowly but because I pick up crap loads of things and scan the ground probably few seconds too long between and after horking.

@Grape
There're so many drops... as I have so much to loot in my grail list, I often found myself checking useless uniques during training for this round... now it certainly still cost me 5secs per run still, due to habit checking charms, I have to lose that ! At least until my qualifiers are 5 and nice enough - targeting the 135+ points ;)

Maps looks very solid to me.

6 hours in now. Rest of the weekend is going to be very busy though...

Things are starting out better than R1, but that wasn't too hard. :p

I switched around to this setup:
Code:
NWV 'RBF' (+20/-5)
DFathom 'RBF' (+25/-5)
35 Spirit
CoH
2/20 FCR ammy
Hellmouth
SoJ
Rare ring 10 FCR/40 life/89 mana/8 CR
Arach
WT
110 MF with Gheed's. Seems like a very good amount to get rare rings, I'm mostly after those apart from hopefully some charm upgrades and qualifiers. So I dropped the Shako for NWV and made up for the lost Mana with a different FCR ring. ~10.1k Blizzard helps as well.

Couple of non-qualifier finds so far:

A full hand of post-1.07 Pul runes won't get you anywhere near the top 10, let alone 1st place.

I had a pretty good start myself. Only a bit over an hour in, but quite happy with the results so far. Not so much with my run times, though. For some reason I'm slower than in my test runs, even though I do more damage and have a larger range on Static Field.

Current setup:
Code:
Harlequin Crest (ptopaz)
HotO / beta Call To Arms on switch
Spirit Monarch
Ormus Robes (15%/Blizzard, ptopaz)
Hellmouth
Arachnid Mesh
War Travelers
Mara's Kaleidoscop
BKWB
SoJ
Gheed's
4 Cold Skillers

Merc:
Infinity (1.07 eth Cryptic Axe)
Fortitude (eth-bugged Archon Plate)
Steel Shade

Noteworthy non-qualifier so far:
Code:
Warpspear
Gothic Staff
Two Hand Damage: 14 - 34
Durability: 33 of 40
Required Level: 39
Required Strength: 25
Fingerprint: 0x915ef22b
Item Level: 85
Version: Expansion 1.10+
Unidentified
+3 to Sorceress Skill Levels
Ignore Target's Defense
+3 to Energy Shield (Sorceress Only)
+3 to Teleport (Sorceress Only)
+3 to Telekinesis (Sorceress Only)
+250 Defense vs. Missile
Nothing special or useful, but a grailer for me and the last exceptional unique that I was missing, putting me at grail -36.

Nearly 8 hours in (8 minutes to go...), over 4 hours since my last qualifier and my run times are creeping over 27,5s ever so slowly... but somehow the game knows just what it needs to cough up to keep me going:

Beats Sander's Paragon every day of the week! :D

EDIT: When it rains it pours

Code:
Duriel's Shell
Cuirass
Defense: 927
Durability: 126 of 126
Required Level: 41
Required Strength: 55

Literally right after posting the Reaper's...

@LongingForDeath That's quite a coincidence. My exceptional unique grail is only missing Grave Wand and Gothic Staff! Congrats on the find! It's always nice to find the last grailer of a given type :)
