1.07 News, Info and Gossip

How long did it take you to find such a rack? I've only done like 1-2 hours of test running in softcore and it seemed like getting a stable rack with a good base item is the harder part than actually rolling a unique.

Looking for one special rack can take a lot of time to find. Getting lucky and it's instant, or if not hours after hours, It's good to have many targets to avoid frustration :P

I wasn't specifically looking for Balrog Skin rack anymore, but I'll take every extra Arkaine's I can while I'm running this map.
 
I've died to lightning ench shenk at 69 in 2 hits, I didn't even see those bolts properly. Even though I paid attention to be on top and far away... This hurts. :/
 
I didn't see it properly. I just saw light enchanted, took some distance and flopped. My light resists were pretty low, but i had 1k+ hp... 1.07 is really unforgiving!

I'll probably have to ditch it in favour of 4 ptopaz's at some point though. I don't see how I could reach 380 % mf otherwise. Maybe I just need to leave anytime a boss is light enchanted?

There's one thing I've been wondering - how is Pindleskin? Specifically, is the charge bugged or does it just work weird in 1.07? It seems really slow and I'm not sure if it's doing any damage. In 1.14 he can be extremely dangerous under certain circumstances, how is he in 1.07?
 
Pretty sure it still hurts but probably not as bad as later versions... can't say I've been hit by it in 1.07 in years. You wouldn't want to fight him moire than once probably anyway
 
Pindleskin suffers from some charge bug in 1.07 I think... but he's not much of a target to run anyway.

In 1.10+ he can be just stupid dangerous if he rolls might. His aura level will synergize charge, and when combined with extra strong, he can crit for like 4k damage or something (I haven't actually run the numbers, just posting what I remember) on p8
 
Agreed, Pindleskin wasn't a worthwhile target until 1.08, in which he was one of the few unique monsters that could drop all items.

Thanks for explaining that. All those years ago when I did Pindle runs on 1.12 with a Barb, I died often to the charge attack. It makes sense now.

Also, they seem to have broke another ability of "Prowling Dead" in 1.10. Whenever they come back to life, they will hurt you if you are near the corpse (seems to be a missile which does fire damage?). In 1.10, their resurrecting missile is broken entirely (much like many other animations that were broken, such as Diablo's lightning hose and Fetish Aura).
 
I've never notices them hurt me in any version when resurrecting. Well, very distant memories suggest that maybe they hurt me but I thought it was dangerous because they hit hard. Maybe it was a fire bolt I was thinking of? More likely just their sporadic behavior

I've lost a javazon to such a onehit. Lvl 90, tal's armor, 2x um'd stormshields, skillers with + life, rare +2 circlet with dual leech and resists, dual leech rings, rare gloves with 20 ias 2 java leech resist etc.... puff, gone. :) Then I stopped running him lol.

So now back in 1.07, I've no-lifed up another sorc and racked the hell out of an archon plate rack... only to realise there's no point in ebugging it for merc forti in 1.14.
 
I've seen people talk about running hell travincal with 374+ % mf for set items. How do you manage to keep the merc alive vs. hydras, light and cold ench spam etc. so that he gets the last hit? I don't see how it's a viable mf place on hc... Does a wand of life tap maybe work for the merc?
 
Only use mercs for hell act boss running and questing, everything else should be taken care of by the character.
Racking a skullder and a shako goes a long way, along with some levels, MF prismatic amulet, mf resist rings (or crafts, even better) and craft MF boots. Shako+skullder alone should give at least 200%MF, then it's a question of how good your other gear is, and how many 2%mf small charms you threw away because later versions have better ones ;)
 
Keep in mind you don't have to hit the breakpoints for effective running. I always ran the council with a WW barb that had Shako+Skullders and some junk items (250 MF total). It gave sets and rares the majority of the time. Even with bosses, hitting 500+ MF will give uniques most of the time.

Also, merc is useless for council and there isn't a way for them to leech or tank the Hydras. Instead, I'd recommend slapping on an IK Maul and LoH. Combine that with a Life Tap wand and you'll be invincible. The rest of your gear should be MF stuff!
 
I'm playing an orb/static sorc on HC. It's why I bother why hirelings and try to find a good mf spot. Travincal can be dangerous, I even had close calls with some heirophant boss packs there. About mf though, it was my understanding that drops change drastically if you're close to breakpoints. I'm not sure if it matters though, having a 92 % change to get a set sounded cool, but I didn't imagine it was all sigon's belt and griffon headresses. I wonder what's the point, does any good set item even drop? I could use a tal's amu I guess, but it looks that in the end it's easier to rack sets. Saying all that, it's seems like the safest spot with best exp atm is eldritch + shenk. I assume they can drop everything a monster can drop.

I'm working on this, yesterday I've found a stable shako rack next to the wp. Quick napkin map suggested I should be seeing a harle every couple of hours. So I thought to myself I shouldn't miss the opportunity and should rack like 5 at least. :) After a while I just wanted one before going to bed... gave up and fell asleep after about 1500 runs...
 
I've found a beserker axe rack (1 tele from wp, 100 % stable) - what should I be looking for?

- 5 sock (grief, beast)
- 5 sock eth (death)
- clean/6 sock eth (botd)
- 4 sock eth (oath)

Did I miss anything?
 
Provided the atma bug is still FAM, these should all be eth.

Larzuk can grant up to 4 sockets to magic ones, so be sure to ID eth blues as well. Wouldn't want to miss out on the style points of a 300ED/40IAS eth zerker ZodOhmOhmOhm or the likes.
 
I found a couple of 5 sock and some clean eths and a 15 % ed eth. Not that it's useful for anything really. :) I've rerolled the map by now, since I'm primarily looking for a great poleaxe rack.

I don't atma bug though, it seems as legit as ith swords and occy rings lol.
