Yes, the loss of a certain finger can be a serious detriment to one's ability to express oneself to other drivers.

It's the pinky on the left hand - it's still there but it doesn't play nicely with the other fingers on that hand. Goes off on its own a lot.

On the right, it's the thumb. Still there too, but not fully functional. The x-ray looks like it has spaghetti for bones. Cracking. :yes:

I have some problems with the afore-mentioned digits, but it's not an issue I'm sensitive about. They sort-of work :yes:

I was playing bagpipes on my old Yamaha XJ900F ... and didn't go well, I could hardly carry a tune.

Yeah I get that all the time too. Some people are used to constantly being around others and even need it. It's hard for them to understand your need for alone time and often they get offended by it.
