Re: Witch Hunt: The NCIS Haloween Forum Mafia Thread
You weren't alone in asking that question flubb.
You weren't alone in asking that question flubb.
Sathoris, how are you feeling this morning? Any clue as to what happened?
sorry but where on earth is this coming from?
God you guys post fast, by the time i have read all this and typed it there will be 10 new posts!
WOAH, back that train up. Day one you were lamenting the fact that we were going to lose a "Very Important Role" if we lynched you, and now you are claiming VT?
Lynch all Liars!
Drixx just got caught in his big bold faced lie, I hope other people see this.
I'd very much like an explenation from Gullik, Rlyeh, Boogy, Mal and Sath as to why you didn't help get the lock on zemaj.
I really can't say what I would do differently if I had a different role in the game. I try to take each game as it comes and not fall into any patterns.....
And see, I thought we were supposed to be "roleplaying" for this one. So, I try to slip on my assigned role and everyone thinks I'm scummy....
As for me, what I've got to hide has absolutely nothing to do with killing people.
Good catch, his whole 'the sherrif can decode this' doesn't fit either. How would he as VT know there's a sherrif who can decode messages.
But his play seems like genuine town to me who retaliates too often and may appear scummy for it.
I think it actually can be broken. It would be tough though, but he did give some clues as to the cipher that's used.
Maybe I have misread this, but my understanding is that Drixx put out the code and is now asking the sheriff to decode it using hints he has dropped (such as the "its a very old code") and he somehow expects this to work.
I don't believe the cover story for why the code is posted, it doesn't make a lot of sense. The real reason must be as a secret message to a designated person.Just to hopefully put this whole "Drixx's message can't be decoded without knowing how to do it in advance" thing.
Plenty clues in here about the code is using a very simple encryption with a very simple cypher invented thousands of years ago, and hoping a sheriff type role wil crack it.
I had hoped to check in a last time just before I fell asleep, it usually takes a couple of hours to fall asleep, but my mischievous mistress distracted me. When I woke up the day was gone. I fear I will lose quite a few last hours before the lynch.Koriel said:Now regarding yesterdays votes, I've included below the list excluding ankeli (voted on by zemaj) and obviously zemaj himself.
coju [5].................(corax, Noodle, flippy, flubby, Drixx)
corax [2].................(Gullik, Ryleh,)
Drixx [5].................(Valhauros, Asrrin, Bad Ash, coju, kestegs)
Sathoris [2]................(Boogyman19946, Malevolent)
Feysal [1]................(Sathoris)
I'd very much like an explenation from Gullik, Rlyeh, Boogy, Mal and Sath as to why you didn't help get the lock on zemaj. Or at least why your vote stayed where it was at the end of D1. In fact I wouldn't mind having everyone that voted on coju and Drixx to do the same thing.
What's even more interesting is why Asrrin, PvtCaboose and Flip didn't vote at all. Explenations please?
... but my mischievous mistress distracted me...

Unless you and I are reading different posts, Drixx said he hoped a sheriff could decipher the code, not that the sheriff can decode it.
I've already made a post on the subject including quotes of Drixx's post. If you didn't read it yet, I think you should.
As far as my encrypted text, I'm very much hoping whomever has the "sheriff" ability will decipher it and do as I ask. Ideally only that person will figure it out. I've certainly given enough clues![]()
My post wasn't regarding the cover story, but that it supposedly can't be broken because of his education, thus indicating that the code is a clear message to someone in the game that already has the capability of decoding it. And apparently not everyone has read his posts really carefully, posting information that is not correct.

Oh well she seems nice. I can see how you could have been distracted :whistling:
Also outside of the game, but are you an SA Goon or has the term toxxxing just spread so widely?![]()
Doesn't matter a damn whether he hoped it or not. Fact is he's leaving messages to be decoded. Implying he knows there's a role that can decode those, i.e sherrif. Secondly, where does he get the role 'sherrif' from? There's no way a VT can know that.
Coupled with the other hints at having a role and then claiming VT has me worried again. More and more likely his town tells were just mafia looking for other mafia.
He's not hoping that there is a sherrif. He's hoping the sherrif can translate it. He knows full well there is a sherrif out there, just not if he can translate it.
Don't get all condesending, we've read the posts carefully. Everyone can interprete them differently but don't assume yours is correct.
And concerning the bolded. Doesn't that imply he knows someone's role that can decipher the code. Making it a secret message to someone. Making his role not that of a VT.
Of course there was the chance it was a message to his mason brother, but posting it in the open like that was pretty stupid and I won't feel sadness in uncovering his pro-town role this way.
The question is, why do not think anything evil of it?
I'm guessing that it is possible for a person who knows cryptology to make code that is impossible for amateurs to decode.
I'm finding the:
Post code-->hope good person decodes it-->Good person uses it good effect
too dumb to be the real reason behind it, so it must be a smokescreen for something.
Also I guess I should apologize for coming across as condesending. I just genuinely do not see how he came across as seeming to know there is a cop with an ability to decode his message. Or not at that moment at least.
No worries. It's not what drixx says, it's just that just posting a coded message without a reciever doesn't make much sense from a town perspective. If it's just for random it just generates a cluster**** (as can be seen here) that the mafia can hide behind.
A code decryptifier role wouldn't be that alien to a NCIS game would it?

Alright this Drixx thing is getting out of hand yet again on D2. I just hope it won't get in the way of a D2 lynch too.
From my point of view, he's not indicating that there is a role in this game with the ability to decode his message. Could he have phrased himself in a way so to make people believe that in order to send out a message? Yea I guess it's possible, but then again if he's VT, he just hopes someone can decode the message, and that it's not a scum decoding it. And I doubt he'd leave very valuable information right out there in the open for scum to find. Information that would cripple the town. But even then is it so far fetched for a pro-town player to be linked with other pro-town players? Happened before, we just need a way to prove it. And imo lynching him is not the best option. But I'm open to suggestions, just please don't let it get in the way of D2 voting.
So you're saying you don't believe we have a sheriff role in a game this big? Btw I should've probably read up on this ages ago, but I assume the sheriff role is similar to the cop role. I dare say that we have a cop somewhere, and assuming there is one isn't far fetched. Poor judgment on hoping only the sheriff decodes the message, fair enough. But that's already been discussed.
Well then we have quite a huge difference in understanding what he meant. The way I see it is he doesn't know squat about other roles, encrypted a message using a method he learned in cryptology class, and hoping that someone, anyone (although hopefully the sheriff) can decode it and glean some useful information. Far fetched, but it is as it is.
As for the bolded part, I should've re-read that part and made it clearer before posting. What I meant to say is people seemt to believe his code can't be broken without a role that can translate/decode it. While his posts leaves clues on how to solve it without the ability to decode it. If he knows someone has a role that can decode it, why leave clues that would enable scum to figure out what he said?
so worst case scenario is we spent time arguing over it and no one manged to solve it.
it looks like drixx is 'cleared' by ankeli, and ankeli has his eyes set elsewhere....
Lynching him makes sure he won't stand in the way of any lynches.
You do realise you're contradicting yourself there. If he's a VT and hopes someone can decode his message then he's not a VT because he can't have any information that we don't. Unless there's another barkeep type role and even then it's ridicilious to be posting the info in a coded message. If you have to you subetly put it into a post and not announce to everyone you know something.
You assume. Tell me, what is the sherrif? If there's a cop it would be called a cop. The sherrif is to specific a rolename to mention in the thread.
So you believe he is not a VT and therefor has lied to us?
clues schmues. Nothing in his posts can help us decode that message unless you know more about decoding than the average person. It was meant for one person to read and one person only.
Also meaning we waste a day and focus only on the code and not on anyone else. Knowingly I might add, because after you post such a code you know people will talk about it.
So that's deliberately wasting our time. Lying about his role and sketchy behaviour. I want him dead.
