Witch Hunt: The NCIS Haloween Forum Mafia Thread

Re: Witch Hunt: The NCIS Haloween Forum Mafia Thread

Post restrictions can go either way but are normaly town -

I also agree that a lynch is better than none - even on day 1. With this large of a game the scum scan still hide but I still beleive we get "some" info.

I think Drixx's logic is slightly skewd on the translator bit. You would have no idea keeping it secret who has broke the code. If you are trying to set up your own "in the open" mason's group I'm afraid that is destin to fail. If multiple players have already broke it as said before it's a moot popint and we need too see if it changes - too player or in form.

I really doubt it's a target ability but this is Gorny's game so anything is possible.

Re: Witch Hunt: The NCIS Haloween Forum Mafia Thread

My dear lord you people have to post slower for me T_T Reading through 10 pages of mafia posts is so quite tiring.

Anyhow, I'm on page 10 atm so I haven't covered all the reading material so far.

For the story, I had a wild idea that maybe we have a doc that can target himself and was saved with the kill, but considering the size of the game, and the fact that he somehow ended up silencing himself, that idea got shut down pretty quickly.

I'm a little out of touch with these games as my last one was quite a while ago and I haven't been playing all that often back then anyhow so I'll have to take a few breathers to get the handle of the ropes again.

To begin with, I really dislike Ankeli's aggressive play style XD Not saying it's not effective, but I always get a huge false positive at first because of it. I get a slight notion that Gullik is somehow connected to Ank, but that's because he jumped onto zemaj pretty quickly after Ankeli tossed a vote at him. I'm gonna wait till I plow through the remaining three pages or otherwise some more info before I cast my vote at zemaj, as for now I'm not really getting any tingling on the good ol' radar.

korialstraz is just chillin in the background. Posting just to post, you know how it is.

corax.... the only thing that I've noticed here is that he had three votes cast at him in a short time and he's taking it like a baus. That's a few brownie points towards the vote from me, as I think he's just trying to stay off the radar for the most part since now zemaj is receiving most of the heat.

Man, playing these mafia games is always the same ;] like finding a pin in a haystack.

Where's Feysal? I don't like him being quiet.
Has he posted?

this i do not understand. do you mean boss? or does baus mean something else?

Re: Witch Hunt: The NCIS Haloween Forum Mafia Thread

it was a compliment i think, i don't think he was trying to accuse you of being the mafia boss.

i just wanted to vote corax, you don't sound very scummy really, somebody has to point the FoS to get it started.

unvote- corax

still not sure who to vote for, wait untill a valid accusation shows up.

Re: Witch Hunt: The NCIS Haloween Forum Mafia Thread

On post restrictions, we have had games where people made up a restriction for their own reasons, to get people to vote for them was one of the reasons and kablooie they were a bomb with a ability to take a certian number of people with them. So not all restrictions are permanent or targeted.

Re: Witch Hunt: The NCIS Haloween Forum Mafia Thread

I meant to say boss. Consider baus kind of like a phonetic spelling? Thing dog -> dawg or lol -> lawl type of thing. And I didn't meant to pin you as the mafia boss though.

I neglected to post the correct vote format when I created the rules, as I edited an older version and removed all of the different examples of the wrong votes.

Correct format is:

Vote: pie
Unvote: pie

I am not however, making an issue with names being capitalized.

It's been edited into the rules.

i thought as much but seeing as some other sayings i'm unfamiliar with have come up i'd thought it best to check. MFoS. best abbrev ever.

I am worried. ( about the head slapping )

Re: Witch Hunt: The NCIS Haloween Forum Mafia Thread

Now ... as far as me being suspicious for not giving the link to the code solution, I've actually explained my thought process on that count. Another guy admitted to having found a solution and didn't say a word about it and hasn't explained why.

Could you please point out this other person who found the solution but didn't share?

But I found the translation within a few moments of the gibberish going up and kept that to myself. It is possible that the anti-town elements may never have been able to find out how to translate it and it could have been a big advantage if used correctly.
Emphasis added.

I think you would agree that if only some good guys could decipher posts (and assuming the garbled speech comes with a benefit) then it would be better for only the pro-town people to be able to read those posts, right? But now since everyone can read them, the affected person cannot send a message with any hope mafi wouldn't intercept it.

I think it's a bit much to expect that not one of the mafioso would have cracked the code when you yourself found it in only moments.

Better step off mate. It's not my responsibility to read the thread for you. Someone else responded to the post with the link to the translator by saying he had brute forced it. If you missed that, well that's on you.

Let's say you're lame insinuations are right and I'm a baddie ... why on earth would I even say a word about it? I would, if anything, thank the person for the link and move on.

You can take your weak play elsewhere.

My emphasis.

This looks like a slip and a cover to me.

Actually he did explain it. Maybe you should go back and double check before posting your accusations as facts. If you want to believe the explenation or not is another point. Post with explenation from Noammr quoted below.

What? No, that was my first post today, made as soon as I finished reading the thread. If Val hadn't posted the translator I would've shared my findings...unlike someone else here.

Which imo isn't uncommon for me. I feel the my weakness lies in the beginning of the game. I'm terrible at picking players apart, and personally feel I don't know all the mechanics of the mafia game well enough to make any conclusions based on posts. It gets easier as the game progresses, due to less people being involved.

Where's Feysal? I don't like him being quiet.
Has he posted?

If there's one person in this game I'd love to hear from it's Feysal. He's proven time and time again to be an excellent theorycrafter, and tends to bring up some valid points.
