Re: Witch Hunt: The NCIS Haloween Forum Mafia Thread
10 years in real life, never before online, which seems to be pretty different. Although in person once I won as part of the mafia team 3 times in a row. That was fun. Also made me get lynched first the next 5 times we played, even though I was a doc for one of them
I would think that sharing the info would be better for the town. What specific info do you think would be gained from waiting?
Also, in the games I have read on this site so far, the post restriction seems to be a character trait. I guess it could be a targeted ability, but either way with the code broken and if his vote counts, it shouldn't matter. Just slightly annoying.
- How long has it been since you played mafia?
- Have you ever played as mafia or anti-town?
- Have you ever won a game as mafia or anti-town?
- What was the most memorable, weirdest, or otherwise noteworthy game/role/scenario you have ever seen while playing mafia?
I'd like for a lot of players to answer these questions. Don't make me name names.

Yeah ... it definitely is way to the good. But I found the translation within a few moments of the gibberish going up and kept that to myself. It is possible that the anti-town elements may never have been able to find out how to translate it and it could have been a big advantage if used correctly.
Now it's basically a player we won't lynch and the anti-town won't bother to kill simply because everyone knows he's a townie with a weird ability. With the translator linked for everyone, it's just an added layer to interacting with that one player.
I'd have rather kept things quiet and perhaps gotten some use out of the ability.
As I said before, I think the ability is a wash. I guess my question would be whether it is a targeted ability. i.e. will someone each day get instructions to use a certain code for their posts?
If it's a targeted ability, then it really doesn't tell us much. If it is an ability that is tied to the same person all game, then it's either a useless tack-on or it would take some cleverness to use it for the town's sake. As it is now, if it is a permanent thing, it doesn't seem likely to have much effect.
