Skunkbelly's Ultimate Tournament Challenge 2011

Re: Skunkbelly's Ultimate Tournament Challenge 2011

Duriel is said to have had his drop messed up in v1.13, so that he might drop several TP scrolls instead of items. But is that mostly for his non-quest drop (which I will never see)?

I do know that the TP scroll is no longer guaranteed, because Palpatine received six items from him (on /players 3). I think that´s a first for me.

He is now ready for the next act. Even though he started Act II at two levels higher than 'normal' (55 instead of 53) he still ended up where I always get to in the act, level 60.

Re: Skunkbelly's Ultimate Tournament Challenge 2011

Solo has finished act 2. Upgraded the belt and ammy slightly. Also does anyone know what the steeldriver was socketed with?

Re: Skunkbelly's Ultimate Tournament Challenge 2011

Then I have to ask: why was Palpatine sent to me with only ONE full rejuve (and I think two small ones)? I mean, at the very least, he should have found enough purples up to that point to be able to make at least 20 full purples. Has the progress been so tough that they have all been drunk? Hard to believe. Maybe he and Anya arranged a huge drinking party...

I didn't pass Palpatine to you, but I could have because I typically do not carry around a lot of Rejuv potions. I only use them as a last resort. I typically keep one line of four of them in my belt and either two lines of red or blue potions depending on the character's needs. When I get to the act boss, I might have a few more Rejuvs saved up and then I use two lines of them. If the last battle was really rough (and it often is), I could be down to just a couple Rejuvs left in the belt.

I guess that I do this because I like to keep all my socket fillers in my in-game stash so that I can cube them as they are found.

I did not even consider that someone else would want ten or twenty rejuvs, so now I will try to find some way to keep a few more on hand to save for the pass. I just checked and found that Kenobi has four Full Rejuvs in his belt (Duriel was pretty easy). I guess that will have to do for this time.

Re: Skunkbelly's Ultimate Tournament Challenge 2011

Hoop, I'm not sure what the stats on the socketed jewel are, but you can use ATMA to find out: right-click on the item, choose view...in the new window it will display the item and its stats, with any socket fillers under the item pic...if you then click on the socketfiller, it will list its mods in the stat pane. I don't use GoMule, but would imagine it has similar capabilities...

Jiansonz: Ouch, that sucks about the sockets...I've used the cube socket formula twice as well (for Vader), but was lucky enuff to roll max sox on both (which is what I needed)...of course, it helped that the max sox on those items was 2/3 respectively, so I had a much better chance to roll max...

Re: Skunkbelly's Ultimate Tournament Challenge 2011

Thanks WoRG, I was just wondering if it would be worth unsocketing and resocketing with something else. Of course i never found a Hel yet.

It´s not that I actually needed many purples this act (access to Life Tap almost makes the merc not need any) but they are there for emergencies. In a really bad situation, I often need to use 6-8 of them, and then it´s nice to have a good backup supply.

I usually have 12 full rejuves (three columns) in the belt (but only two columns if it´s a heavy mana user or if it´s a character/merc combo that drinks reds like water every fight). Then I want a spare full rejuve in the stash in Normal, three in NM and about 8 on Hell. When I have a tanking merc and I am not playing Necros, I feed my merc purples as a matter of course, usually at least one every boss fight, often 2-4 of them. Whenever I suddely go down to about half life myself, I slam my hand on the '3-4' buttons as a reflex, making me drink 1-3 potions. Yeah, I am an addict. :)

I mostly just wondered where they all went. Have people sold them or even not bothered to pick them up?

Re: Skunkbelly's Ultimate Tournament Challenge 2011

I always pick up and cube up purple pots, but tend to use a lot less than I get...every character I've sent forward except Fisto (ActI normal) has had several fat purples, and he had a lot of small purples. I've also muled a bunch off to my tourney stash to clear inventory space on several characters. I only sent about four with Organa...Baal/Nilathak runs have a high consumption rate:crazyeyes:

Re: Skunkbelly's Ultimate Tournament Challenge 2011

I'm in the same boat - I always make a bunch of purples, end upwith no room to keep them, stash them, and forget to put any spares back in the stash before forwarding.

In Hell I typically stop carrying red potions altogether (except for a handful of characters). In my oknormal play I don't have any issue staying stocked up, but it will be interesting to see how my consumption progresses with tournament play.

Re: Skunkbelly's Ultimate Tournament Challenge 2011

I prefer reds to purples. It seems like they work better because they fill over time as opposed to the instantaneousness of the purples. I've even thought that normal juvies in some cases are more effective than the full ones.

Re: Skunkbelly's Ultimate Tournament Challenge 2011

I have a stack of fat purples in my stash. I pick up every small purple that drops and cube them all up, until the point where monsters start dropping the fat ones anyway. I generally send a full belt's worth along.

Re: Skunkbelly's Ultimate Tournament Challenge 2011

darn ... I settled on a jagged star because the odds favoured socketing it, but ended up with 2 sockets, and no more p.amythests available

maybe I will just craft some more weapons ... but chewie is really feeling a bit fragile and a good runeword here might make a lot of difference.

Re: Skunkbelly's Ultimate Tournament Challenge 2011

Mixed feelings about getting the reassignments pretty soon... A new character and/or act will definitely spice things up, though I can't help but be underwhelmed with Dooku's progress. Duriel has dropped exactly what you'd expect from him, and it feels like there are one or two stupid obvious upgrades that are just lacking the right number of sockets. Going to have to spend some times in the tombs tonight and tomorrow to rectify at least one of those.

Re: Skunkbelly's Ultimate Tournament Challenge 2011

SWITCHES for NM ACT 2
You may send your character to the next player as soon as you are ready, and you *must* send your character by Sunday, March 27th.

IMPORTANT: You may not look at your Act 3 NM character until you have sent your Act 2 character to the next player.

A couple repeats this time... dratted RNG.

Re: Skunkbelly's Ultimate Tournament Challenge 2011

Wow, the RNG gods must love me...I get a Sorc to run nightmare Kurast:cloud9:

Soulmanz, it will be Sunday before I can finish up Binks and pass him along...work has been hell this week (Its after 1AM Friday morning here, and I just walked in the door from Thursday work...) and the wife informed me earlier today that Saturday will be spent on 'Family Time'...Sorry for the delay...

I did discover something with Binks that I wanted to share, in case others didn't know: If a druid equips a pelt with +Grizzly, his Dire Wolves get the damage synergy bonus even though he has no hard points in the skill, and +skills help as well! Every druid I've ever played who used summons has pointed Grizzly, so I've never noticed this before...

Re: Skunkbelly's Ultimate Tournament Challenge 2011

Palpatine has been sent back to WestXylophone, the player I got him from.

He´s no Darth Sidious yet, but he may be getting there...
His Royal Guard will soon need a better weapon.
