You seem to be forgetting the 60+ skill points into lightning tree. I certainly dont telebomb stuff, i usually take out dangerous packs with lightning and melee as needed. Infinity works wonders because it helps BOTH aspects of the build (caster and melee) while faith doesnt do anything for you caster damage

A shameful build if your forced to depend on lightning 60% of the time in hell, 90% in Act 5. The reward in slashing a couple squishy fallen...?
You might as well call it the Emperor Palpatine build.
I wouldn't use my meleemancer if he had to depend on CE most of the time. I don't have to test this build in Act 5 because the results are obvious.

first off, "you're". If you're going to make an argument and you want people to take it seriously, at least take some time to check spelling and grammar minimally. Second, have you played it? at all? I'm not talking about thinking on a theoretical level. Have you actually built one such sorc and tested it to say that you "need lightning skills 90% of act 5" ? Honestly, such unbased claims make you look like you don't know what are you talking about.
Of course you can't expect a melee sorc to telebomb a pack of fanat/extra strong/extra fast/stoneskin frenzytaurs and live to tell the tale, especially without a shield, and that's why you have the lightning skills for and not using them would be downright stupid (like a zealot refusing to cast holy shield). You're basing your opinions after watching ONE video (a test video at that) posted by ONE guy.

What I am particularly striving for is making the build hell-viable, which I believe (based on my own experience) it absolutely is. Not all of us want every single build to be the next 1.10/1.11 hammerdin, but rather want to play something new and effective.

My bear sorc can't "telebomb", but she still has hardly no trouble at all(even with frenzytaurs) so I know what im talking about.
I take away my best advantage, and im useless. I only get away because im faster than them. A normal sorc swinging a 2-hander is always going to be slow without fanatism, even the breakpoint is still too slow for a serious matchup.
So, your left with a plain old cookie-cutter lightning sorc that has the opportunity to slash a few scraps that are left over(not talking about A1 garbage or typical mobs, you gotta think a little bigger than that). Test your build in the chaos santuary, agaisnt nasty uniques, or in act 5 and I would take it more seriously.
