Zealot Key Performance Parameters

Zealot Key Performance Parameters

As I evolve my character, I find myself constantly looking at tradeoffs. So I started thinking about what key parameters I should maximize in a zealot build, and what is attainable. It is theoretical, because I doubt that any build can meet all of these parameters at the same time. But, if I have a good set of key parameters and values then I can use that to compare one build option to another.

So what are the parameters that I should consider in a zealot build, and what would be the best numbers attainable?

Here's what I've come up with so far:
2000 life
75% blocking
50% DR above and beyond the HF slowness benefit
7k average damage
4fpa
100% DS
100% CB
<10% chance to be hit
>90% chance to hit any monster
100% resist all.

In a theoretical perfect zealot build am I missing parameters and are the values correct?

peace,
Lanello :ponder:

Re: Zealot Key Performance Parameters

All those numbers are fantastic, of course. You'll need as well life leech. Chance to cast life tap is also great to have. And reaching 86% faster hit recovery breakpoint will really help if you get surrounded.

You can't have 100% resist all. It's capped at 95% if I remember well, and for that you'll need some items with mods like " +x% to max light/cold/res/poison resist". Other way is to invest point in single res defensive auras of the paladin, each 2 points spent will give you a pasive +1% to the max resist to that element (don't need to have the aura selected). What you can have over that 95% is absorb.

This is supposing you're talking about PvM.

Re: Zealot Key Performance Parameters

Do you have to have salvation active in order to gain the single res benefits? If not then, I may want to respec my character and put more points into them.

My equp has 15% chance to cast lvl 7 life tap.

So maybe the measure should be...

>10% life leech or life tap.
also
>85% FHR

I was thinking about PvM, because PvP is beyond my current knowledge. I'm still learning the code speak (e.g., bm for bad manners). I don't know why I would care about bm in a duel, but maybe that's because I'm pretty attached to my bm exile or bm HF.

Thanks,
Lanello

Or 22k average damage in a 2h build :jig:

Re: Zealot Key Performance Parameters

The question isn't really "what numbers look cool", but rather "how to achieve highest possible values".

In order to get 100% CB and 100% DS, you're pretty much forced to use Death runeword as your weapon. The best Death can have 346 avg damage(BA), but it would require ~60 IAS to get 4 frames.

We need Highlords, Gores and Guillames to get 100% DS, and 100% CB if I'm not mistaken. Guardian Angel will get us 90% max res all. Exile would get us chance to cast lifetap and +5% max fire&cold res, but denies 50% DR(for that SS is needed).

If we go with a SS, we need Dracs to get Lifetap.

With Dungos or SoE as a belt, Raven for one ring and random res ring/BK, along with +15%/15% IAS/@res jewels in helm, armor and shield we get:

90% max res all
~7k average damage
100% CB
100% DS

I wouldn't be convinced it is the best setup though...

Re: Zealot Key Performance Parameters

My current build is a Frost Zealot, and I've been able to tweak out the following out of the 89 lvl build. (Key Performance Parmeters are in parenthesis for comparison). I'm using in the numbers the pre-buff I get from cta switch, and having a might merc with spirit.

Damage
4158-9802 or 6980 avg (~7k max)
AR 6502 78% chanced to hit Madawc (>90%)
Def 27000 23% chance to be hit by Madawc (<10%)
Life 1869 (2000)
CB 75% (100%)
DS 92% (100%)
Life Tap 15% chance for level 5
Life stolen per hit 13% (>10% LL or Life Tap)
Cannot Be Frozen
10% Open Wounds
+0% FHR
5fps (4fps)
Fire Res 78% (95%)
Cold Res 78% (95%)
Lightning Res 80% (95%)
Poision Res 75% (95%)

The basic attack strategy is pre-buff BO,BC and HS, leverage mercs might aura and conviction equipped auras. What do you think?

Peace,
Lanello

ps - Next build will be standard fan/zealot.

Re: Zealot Key Performance Parameters

You can't get everything, but I'll show you a setup that works extremely well.

guillaume's (possibly Umed) for the CB/DS also a nice chunk of FHR
highlord's wrath (skill, ds, ias, light res)
grief pb (or ba if you don't mind repairing)
enigma (for faster runs, also a lot of nice to have mods - laek, dtm, mf, dr...) or fortitude (for nicer damage numbers, also some resists)
exile in an ebugged 40@+ sacred rondache/targe (massive defense, resists, lifetap)
rare belt (24fhr, str, life, resists) or verdungo's or string of ears
ravenfrost (cbf, ar, dex, cold absorb)
rare (dual leech, ar, resists)
gore riders
laying of hands (350% demon ed, ias, fr)

Charms to reach 86 FHR (or 48), and rest should focus on maxing resists and getting ar and life.

Merc with Andy's, eReaper's (shael), Fortitude

maxed fanaticism, zeal and synergy, holy shield, 1 point smite, rest in defiance

The killing speed is impressive for a melee build and is extremely safe (esp in 1.13 with no IM)

Re: Zealot Key Performance Parameters

Thanks Zerth and all as well.
My next build is going to be zeal with max fanaticism. I'll use what you have as a template for gear. It's going to be while, but I'm looking forward to the posting the numbers that come from this build.
