Hydra/CL build

Re: Hydra/CL build

Steamrolled A1-2 nightmare although I got some help from a necro and 93 sorc in A2, so it's hard to judge exactly how I would've truly faired there, but A1 was very easy even as 37ish. I find it to be a very powerful build so far, and I like that I can use hydras as a form of decoy and cast them ahead to see if they attack something. Makes dungeon crawling a bit slower but oh so much safer.

Got my Vipermagi, so no need for Stealth although it's a sweet starter armor. 42ish in level now. Ah, I didn't understand that you used a ranged merc, but yes, they tend to stay alive more easily since they don't charge into a huge group of monsters and get uberpondered on.

I got +3 to all skills from Lore, Vipermagi and Spire of Lazarus, but I think I can toss in a Lidless there, but I need a nice 1h first. Will have to wait for HotO until I can actually farm those runes! Would you advice to put in a pdiamond in my Lidless for some additional resistance? I know I said I would use Rhyme, but I like to have full killing power when I am still leveling so the mf mods won't slow me down too much.

I got CL maxed, hydra half-way maxed, 1 point each in lit and fire mastery too. Enchant is fun on my merc :) Even with measly 4 skills he deals 400 damage with his Kelpie Snare. I got Crown of Thieves lying around for him too when he gets to 49. Now I just need a good chest piece for him.

Kelpie is nice 'slow' item for merc too, forgot that earlier. Should keep merc alive pretty nicely.
Pdiamond is nice for lidless. I like ort in Lidless too, as lightning resist you need most in nmare.

Changing soon merc, stil that act3 cold. I just did couple act2-maggot lair runs to lvl 75, now torch is on. Couple more lvls and I can rehire lvl75 merc, then I can put Reapers Toll on him right away without lvling him.

Got 100 lit resistance with Spire of Lazarus and Lore so it's not an issue just right now anyway. I was thinking of getting The Oculus since it's a bit cheaper than HotO until I can get HotO myself (I already got a 4 socket flail lying around, just need the runes).

I started A3 nightmare, piss-easy, but had a headache yesterday so didn't play that much. Off to finish it now :)

EDIT
Argh, 48, but now they rushed the Council and it completely killed my enjoyment of A3... When I was afk to boot, so I couldn't even tell them not to. I don't know why, but there is nothing worse than when I want to do things normally and then people rush without even asking if you wanted to :( Same with A5 in normal, a sorc joined and just did the Anya quest for me. Oh well... No problems killing things with 3 players in the game in A3, although I suppose my speed will be very different in hell.
