In A Mirror Darkly - Star Trek Mafia Forum Game Thread ifr

Re: In A Mirror Darkly - Star Trek Mafia Forum Game Thread

I searched and found there have been all manner of jesters here. But, they're sometimes complicated. I was completely ignorant of such a game role. I'm better informed now. I'm also suddenly pretty uneasy about lynching Ivan as a result of how lame it would be to have a winner on day 2 that posted nothing but bilge.

Discussion would not suck at this point.

Hey said:
I have no feelings towards the airlock vote yet - I'm both surprised and confused by it.

By this I meant that I have no feelings towards who we should airlock.

Re: In A Mirror Darkly - Star Trek Mafia Forum Game Thread

Hey - I did that by translating his long strings of Set Course with the binary translator. One of them is on page 67 if I recall correctly.

I stopped the translation with the last bolded character. He started bolding them and someone else figured it out, not me. I didn't translate the first one. I'll look to see who tomorrow, I'm wiped.

If all that happens at worst is that Ivan shares a victory, then that's no big deal and low risk.

Ah, I must have missed that. Thanks for pointing it out to me!

Not long after the discovery of Loz's body was made, the group of refugees noted that another of them was missing. Marahumm was nowhere to be seen. What was left of him was found stuffed inside a supply closet inside the ship's armory. He had been subdued by a blast from an I-MOD and then left there with a Type - III Phaser set on overload.

So you’re saying you were attacked but survived? Why do you say were wrong about Mara? You suspect Asrrin is a Romulan that attacked you?

Why didn’t you switch you vote to me as you promised, basically making me look guilty by association?

With everyone speaking in so many ways and forms, my brain hurts. God damn you Gorny.

That makes it clear he doesn't want to get lynched. Most likely 000.000 means No.

Re: In A Mirror Darkly - Star Trek Mafia Forum Game Thread

Going with the Jester theme...maybe he doesn't want lynch today, but maybe tomorrow? He is odd/even character? I'm telling you I don't like the smell of it at all!!! So random at first and then coherent?! Perhaps a moment of psychotic lucidity? It would make sense Gorny would feed on the history you all keep citing and then turn it around and use it. He is not Mafia and we need to kill mafia before they kill us all!!!

Ankeli, you've roleclaimed as someone who can't be NK'd, and who will kill anyone who makes the attempt. Did Gorny give your role a name?

Translate Noammr:

Why are you people unvoting Ivan? His flip-flopping only makes him more suspicious, I can't imagine him having a pro-town role demanding that he be lynched on a specific day. Unless he supplies us with a good reason for wanting to get lynched yesterday and not wanting it today, I say we lynch him (Ivan, you've shown us you can communicate when you want to, do it). We have enough trouble voting on lynches without a third party role sidetracking us.

As for the secondary lynch - not sure yet.
Ankeli and Zhao seem to have toned down, which is a bit strange.
Far too many people are just hanging around with a couple of short posts a day, they're currently the most problematic to the town imo.

Spudnik:
Care to elaborate on those votes you made? Especially on voting whale? Are you limited to posting poetry? :p

I'm inclined to agree that the main lynch should be Krazey.

Nobody is looking that suspisious as no one is posting much atm.

Ank is looking less OTT than he usually is - maybe he's learned why he keeps getting lynched early!
Also Zhao is quiter than usual- the last time he was like that he turned out to be Mafia, but it's early days yet.

One thing I have noticed is Asrrin who is usually very against rash voting with little substance and yet his first post today was to double vote Ank with no definate reason - he killed Mara?

Also two extra people silenced today! Ank's mixed up writing is something he posted in a previous game- so maybe his own idea?
Spud's writing is how an alien communicated in TNG if iirc.

If we all keep getting post restrictions this game may become even harder to follow.

Vote: Krazeyivan

The river Temarc in winter, Zinda, his face black, his eyes red, The beast at Tanagra, Darmok on the ocean

Vote: Outside the Whale

Airlock Vote: Zhao_Yue

In checking the Star Trek wiki this seems to about being silenced,
Temarc was a river referenced in the Tamarian language.

The phrase "The river Temarc, in winter" implies the act of being silenced. Captain Dathon and Captain Picard both used this sentence to silence the Tamarian first officer. (TNG: "Darmok")

Darmok on the ocean-loneliness,isolation

the beast atTanagra- an obstacle to be overcome

Noodle, forbidden paste directly from blank (it's an anagram for "eel orgasms", but I don't think that's it). Blank Security Officer.

It seems he also has to drop words like The and To and I. This'll make it harder to guess at meanings.

Now this scares me. Seems to be some form of poetry, but nothing I've seen before, with my limited experience. No idea what it could mean though.

Amg, failed quote.

Laarz:

Could it be taken to mean "I have been silenced - but I am alive, and this is just another obstacle I must overcome alone"?

I looked up Zinda, and it's a hindu word for "alive". Not sure if it has any special meaning in Star Trek though.

Wow Larz. I can't believe you knew that. Awesome.

Yes, I'm ready to stick with my votes today. And I'm glad I got out of my prior engagement! =D

After sleeping it, the way I voted still feels correct. Ivan and Ankeli.
