The 1pt smiter guide to Uber Tristram v 1.0.

Well here is my gear so far:

Guillaume's Face
Gore Riders
Grief Phaseblade
Dracul's Grasp
1x Raven Frost

I also have a Lo rune which I was planning to use for Fortitude, and a Ber rune which I was hoping to use for CoH, but apparently the Lo can't get me an Ist and an Um. Though even if it could I would be completely out of currency to get a shield, which is why I was wondering if Fortitude would be decent enough.

If doing Fort, make sure you stack as many resist charms as you can. A bad Fort resist roll will wield you only 25 resist vs CoH constant 65 resist.

That is 40 resists you need to cover. Or equal to 8 5% resist all small charms or 3 15% resist all grand charms.

Do consider carefully.

I scored a 136 arachs last night, here is my question.

using string of ears as my belt, which ammy would be better.

Metalgrid vs Maras? for my 1 point smiter..I already do ubers pretty well..max resists...hes basically fully capable but im only wearing teling of beads ammy which has +1 skills and some resist.

so i wanna upgrade? anyone have opinions on the two ammys? which one is better overall? and whY?

thanks.

It's really a toss up, this build isn't in dire need of the skill points from Mara's, the Def/AR on Metalgrid doesn't really come into play with a Grief weilding 1 point smiter. Go with the best resist.

I am making a smiter, and am close to being done. I followed the guide for the low class and medium class gear. I wanted peoples input on whether or not I could take on the Ubers.

Stats (with charms and everything on):
Str:150
Dex:136
Vit:269
Enrgy: None

Resists in hell:
Fire:75
COld:70
Light:75
Poison:65

Gear:

Helm:Guil face
Shield: 4x P diamond Vortex shield (100 to all resists)
Armor: Duress Runeword
Gloves: Dracs
Boots:Gores
Ammy: +1 to aplly skills with resists
Rings: Raven frost and Dwarf Star
Belt:IK Belt
Wep:Lightsabre

Zeal dmg: 1-1.6k
Smite dmg: .4-1k
Chance to block with holy shield on:62

Of course this is the poor mans build, but the whole reason I'm doing the ubers is to get more wealth to build other characters.
Anything I can change to something that is easily affordable?

Smoke armor (nef + Lum) + Treachery (shael thul lem) to pre buff Fade.

1) Wear treachery. Stand in a fire. Get Fade.
2) Go back to Stash, grab Smoke armor.
3) Whack Meph first with Salvation ON.
4) Go back to Stash and grab Duress.

Smoke = +50% resist all armor.
Fade = +60+% resist all.

That is a total of 110 resistances right there. Add your shield = 210.
Add triple Anya quest = 240 resist. You need roughly 280 to 300 resist vs meph. Don't bother about the specifics, just make sure everything is 75/75/75/75 ! Higher stack resists is even better !

Baal and Diablo have no Conviction aura so you can use your more damaging gear (Duress) on them. :)

P.S. A lifetap wand, will help tremendously.

Your weakness is resists. You're VERY close on Baal and Diablo, but need some real help against Mephisto.

If you can afford an Um, you can put that in your Guil's Face for an extra 15, which will get you up to max resists against everyone but Mephisto. Not sure how many resists on your ammy, but if they're low you could swap it out for a Mahim-Oak Curio (+10 resists and +10 attribute), or a Saracen's Chance (15-25 resists and +12 attributes)

Oh, and while you're at this level, that Treachery pre-buff will be really helpful. The cool thing about it is that when you do trist, you should be trying to do Mephisto first anyway. So the plan would be: prebuff someplace else, turn on Salvation (don't forget to put your 1-pt into Salvation), go into trist, race around the outside to reach Mephisto, lure him out and kill him, switch to Fanat and kill the others. Hopefully, your prebuff won't wear off until *after* Meph is done.

A quick follow up to a previous post:

OK, so I'm working the STAT POINT numbers here, and adding up what's needed for various breakpoints, etc. ::snip::
Strength is already high enough to wear everything*, so never add any points to strength
(* depending on how crummy the torch and anni are, I may have to pre-buff w/ a strength ring to equip HoZ, but after HoZ, everything else *seems* to fit just fine)
Oh man, how wrong I was!

It turns out that pre-buffing strength is fine so long as you NEVER DIE EVER. But if you die (for example, doing your organ runs), it's really hard to get all your equipment back because your body will be swarmed and you won't really have time to stand around figuring out how to pick all your things back up.

The rest of you probably already knew this, but it took me a while to learn: Saving points for vitality is good, but don't be too stingy.

Here's the math: My 25 base and an 18 Anni didn't even let me equip Drac's. But even if I cheat and use charms to let me put Drac's on, that only gives me an extra 15 and there's a big gap to the 103 I need for my AP CoH. Ultimately, I needed to add a total of 45 strength points. 45+25+18+15 = 103. After that it's clear sailing. With CoH I get another 20, which automatically equips T-gods (adding 20 more) and Guil's Face (another 15). At this point I'm WAY past 142, so my Upped HoZ equips automatically and I'm done. (Humpty Dumpty is together again :-)

By the end, my strength comes out to 178, which is overkill, but I decided it just wasn't FUN doing all this equipment switching just to save on the strength points.

By the way, I'm still learning my way around, BUT MAN THIS BUILD IS FUN!

Max block, max resist, big defense, big life, life tap to keep the red ball full FOR flipping EVER and this guy can tank anything in the game. Remember not to run :-), and be wary of Iron Maiden. I LOVE STANDING TOE TO TOE WITH BAAL. :-)

i have 10 unused skill points on my lvl 88 1pt smiter ... My question is do i put them in defiance or blessed aim ... somethimes i wiff at the air when swinging the Grief PB ... does blessed aim get passive bonuses for hard points like defiance does?

my def is 8k with HS on with Coh not fort ... my dex is 136 ... i also have 25 extra stat points should i put stat points in dex or vit and do i put skill points in defiance or blessed aim

So, I've gotten Treachery and Smoke Runewords. Do you guys now think that I will be able to take on the Ubers without much trouble? If there is any flaw, tell me because I already have the keys and I don't want to die over and over again wasting everything I paid for to get the keys.
TY for the help again.

Question for you fellow 1-point Smiters:
Is maxing Sacrifice really worth it? It only seems to add a puny amount of damage per point.

Sacrifice is for zealots and yes it helps.

As for zero P.
Look at this step by step video guide. :)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WPL5dFjvTUg

As you can see the guy is using pretty much the same setup as yours, except he uses a Prudence Runeword armor (45 resist and it needs a Mal, sure it has higher def but as you can see, in there is pretty much elemental attackers, no biggie) and Treachery. He later brought in an Oath weapon instead of Lightsabre but not like it does anything for your smite.

anyone got any help for me on this?

dependin on your shield, you may need to invest more stat points on dex ... to keep max block up. In my case, once I hit 94, I have to add 1 or 2 stats points to dex with each new level.

But I'm at the same point. I'm pretty sure that the stat points are goin into vitality, nothin more to spend on the others.

Skill points ... it's a personal choice ... I think I might put mine into smite. Cause he really does smite more than zeal

^ I would put it in defiance. I hear blessed aim has little to no effect on AR if you use smite. Haven't tried it out myself so I'm not sure.

First off, I love this guide. Great job! I do have a couple questions that may have been answered but I did not see it.

1. What do I do about physical immunes? Ignore them?
2. Any recommendations on merc gear or should I leave the merc at home?
