I'm addicted to b.net but I kind of wanna start playing single player, it does seem like the right way to play it. Good reason to play sp is because you get all the drops, complete opposite on b.net because during baal runs on hell I never get anything that he drops. The number 1 reason why I hate b.net is all the stinkin bots that pm you and join yer game to advertise about a stupid site selling game items. The only reason I can think of that keeps me on b.net is hoping to one day build a character that can do uber trist and uber diablo, but I've never come close to getting a character like that. Closest I've ever been to getting an enigma is having a 3 socketed breast plate and the ith rune.

Can I get permanently banned from diablo 2 b.net?

700-1,100 ms ping to battle.net.

That should sum it up nicely I would think. Then you can add in the usual helping mentioned several times before, such as I don't know how to hack/steal accounts/dupe/spam chat channels/speek leet/Player kill/way point guard/bot mf run/steal drops and so on.

Temp bans on Bnet is the number 1 reason i started my SP career. There are other reasons too though.

Not having to perm mules is a close second. Within 3 weeks of being back on bnet i already had 4 mules full of stuff yet none of them were permed. 8 hours of doing nothing did not seem like much fun :whistling: And lag i guess. While i didn't actually get much lag i would often get "loot lag", where you have to click on something you wanted to loot several times before it would pick it up.

I realised as well that 90% of my time on bnet was in a private room by myself anyway so i figured i'd move to SP for pretty much the same experience but better :thumbup::smug:

I just love stashing up stuff, I´m so addicted to collect that before I found this lovely place i had 50-60 mules in TCP/IP...

can you fight run uber trist in single player? I watched a video on youtube of a summon necro doing uber trist, or what I believe is uber trist and he clicked on single player.

Well if thats the case I think I will start playing single player, making a character that is able to run uber on single player is probably easier to do. I dont know which character I wanna make though.

There is a mod that allows Ubers trist and Uber Diablo in single player. Just to let you know, that is not allowed in the SPF if you are going to mutiplayer/trade here. I'm sure someone else will be here to give you a more detailed answer.

This community
Ability to Pause
/players command
Same Map if you want
Less Addictive :rolf: (I keep telling myself that)
Lack of people I know personally that play MMO's
You keep your solo finds
Finding Legit High Runes
General Bnet environment
No Lag

I play SP because I hate lag with a passion beyond reason.

That and I pick up every single item (yes, even the bolt stacks) and that leads to taking a while....

Personally I feel like it's more of a challenge, playing through at P8 seems like a much funner way to do things then grush a charactar to hell and get him to 90 in one day. It feels...more pure to me. Almost the way the game was meant to be played.

I agree.

I play because the only lvl 90 i've ever head has been rushed and recieved plenty of xp and items from hundreds of baalbot runs. I just wanted a high lvl character for once. I was sort of disappointed though when i learned several factors: can't get infinity (lvl 91 light sorc) in non ladder, and to trade for it is so darn expensive. What really ticks me off is how most of the high powered chars i've seen have gotten that way from actually buying items off websites and stuff.

Anyway, there is a lot of stuff involved on bnet d2 that just really disappointed me, and possibly the worst thing is just how time consuming having a super high power character is, and i simply don't have that time anymore. And if i'm not active for 3 months...bye bye lvl 91!

Here's the reasons i play.
-Hitting lvl 99 legit must be very fulfilling
-finishing hell on your own and untwinked is also an experience i look forward to. That way i can say i finished the game the way blizzard had designed it to be finished (well sort of...given the difficulty of hell has increased over the patches, i'm assuming they didn't really think people would try and finish hell solo anymore)
-Get tired of d2 for a while? Going on a vacation for a couple months? No problem! You can come back to d2 sp a year later and your character will greet you with a smile instead of that nasty red 'character expired'!
-want to see just how hard it is to find/create the most powerful items in the game.

Simple answer:

HC and PK don't mix, hence SP.

I play in bnet, but solo, because I like the challenge of übers.

Are mods counted as cheats/hacks?
and I have made up my mind, I'm gonna start playing sp. Now I gotta figure out what character to make and what build to go with? Are there builds that may not be as effective in sp as it is on b.net?

plenty of builds rely on specific gear or at least expensive gear to perform... both of these can be found/traded for much more easily on bnet than in sp

some mods are counted as totally legitimate, as long as you say that you're using them (here)

other mods are just not supported here (read the stickies)

Should I just pick a character look over all the builds and just choose one to make?

absolutely!

i also suggest you take a moment to go into yourself and find out where your affinities lie (hack/slash, blast/shower, sneak/stab, ...)

enjoying the game is more important than just making a blizzsorc to build wealth IMO

I dont know if this means anything in diablo 2 but I play World of warcraft, not currently though I take breaks from the $15 a month, but in WoW I love the rogue class which is a "sneak/stab" class but I dont think sneak/stab exists in diablo 2, but correct me if I'm wrong.

well... you could play an assassin with cloak of shadows and then use martial arts to kill the opponents off one by one, but that is not entirely the same thing.

dim vision dagger necro? (seriously, sneak/stab is not for players who are looking for a start-off build to relieve stress and have some relaxed play)

suggest you go with Amazon, since rogue sounds like ranged...
plenty of ranged fun in that class

Actually the rogue class in WoW is a melee based class though most rogue players will get a gun to use.

Maybe I will make bowzon I've never seriously made an amazon character before, I tried javzon on b.net just a few weeks ago got her to a2 I didnt like how fast I ran out of mana when I used power strike and lightning strike.

eh... i have no idea of WoW, you surely guessed it


some of the builds that'll be worth their while later on, get started slowly (eg. run out of mana quickly in the early stages of the game, but then really start to steam-roll once they reach Act 4)

with any of those you have to have patience for a few little acts in normal difficulty, and think about what you'll do, when you finally get started and stop having to whack the monsters with a melee weapon cuz of mana

(you'll find bowazons can be a pain when the right gear doesn't drop... you might wanna try an elemental variant of the bowazon instead of going pure physical)
