Hey guys
I was sure i saw this mentioned in this thread earlier, but after a scan i could not find it.
I just racked a Skullders in LK and the in-game stats read the MF% as gold find instead.
I still have 3 lvls to go before i can equip it do to strength requirements, so i cant test to see if it is indeed goldfind or not.
Has anyone else done some testing on this?

@galtwish, have you gotten anywhere w/ that necro? I was considering such a build but wasnt sure if it was viable or not .(dyin to try out shako/visceretuant)

Hi everyone. This is my first post on this forum since 1.09 or 1.10 I think. I was a lifelong Battle.net-newest-patch-ladder-player until I started playing 1.07 about a year ago after reading about it in this very thread... and I don't think I've ever enjoyed Diablo more!

Anyway, after a year, I've got a few decent chars and enough items to keep them all rolling. I decided to make a new LF Javazon in hopes of being able to massacre cows. On my first LF Zon (level 77) I pumped LF, Valk, Crit Strike, and Pierce, and wasn't too happy with the results. Valk is terrible and diminishing returns on CS and Pierce seemed like wastes once I got decent gear. On my new one, I intend to max LF, and pump Crit Strike and Pierce if everyone agrees that both work with LF??? If so, what should I do with the rest of my points? I was thinking either Jab, Impale, or Fend along with a few pts in penetrate to help finish off straglers... any thoughts? I've NEVER used any of those skills on any patch I don't think, so I need some imput.

Thanx for the hasty reply Jaedhann, that info is a relief, as it was about a 400-450 run rack in order to get it.(though thats not too bad)

@HoosierDaddy: in my experience pierce is fine and penetrate is waaay equipment dependent, and i would think if you have decent gear (as you said) that jab should work fine for stragglers. Though i've heard some good things about fend ive never tried it, maybe someone else has and can comment.
P.S. yes valk is very weak compared to 1.09/1.10, 1 point will suffice for an easily recastable meat shield

@HoosierDaddy: Welcome back! I've got a couple of 1.07 LF zons and the one I'm happiest with uses a Buriza on switch for Guided Arrow with gloves with crushing blow and that works quite well for me for bosses. For cows, Razortail gives enough pierce that you don't need too many skillpoints there. As mentioned, we've gotten spoiled with strong Valks in 1.10+ and in 1.07 it's not worth more than a single point.

Huh, I hadn't gotten much in the way of wtfhax items, and then in one run, two +18max grand charms!

Question: I've heard of a few different break points for optimal chances to get sets/uniques from bosses/champs... are there any lists of all if them? I don't see how the atma dropcalc is working for 1.07, and the formula on the first page doesn't make any sense >.>

He's level 19 with a plain +3 Bone Spear wand and drinking blues like they're going out of style. He's safe but slow and boring, and way back on the priority list. I've got a L67 frenzy Barb in A3 Hell and a L48 Hunter/Hurricane Druid in NM that will be Matted before I get the necro out of Normal.

Getting +MPK seems like a necessity with the Bone missiles, as the summons are pretty fragile and need lots of recasting. I haven't experimented with the Iron or Fire golems yet, but I've got lots of good twinking gear available at level 30 and then again at 45, so I'll have more input in a couple of months.

@ HoosierDaddy & Purplelocust--Razortail and all other pierce equipment is bugged @ 1%. Valk is 5000 life meatshield which may or may not be worth it--she stand up to Hell cows for about a minute while I'm doing MS level clears there with a "Death" Ashwood Bow that only does 93 max damage. If you don't go with Valk, Decoy is strongly recommended. A fast bow with GA and CB gloves/Rattlecage is a great boss killing set-up. Buriza's big damage is just gravy. Welcome back!

@strfn--127% MF for NM act bosses to drop sets, 374% MF for Hell bosses to drop sets, 556% MF for Hell Act Bosses to drop uniques. When you go over the first two values, you'll get a lot of rares. Remember that the games chooses the item type first, so if there is no set item for that type, you'll get a blue or a rare. The 556% against Meph is the best way to build up your normal Uniques and get the first few exceptional uniques. It's also a great way to get the jewelry (though Andy is best for SOJ). I've done a couple hundred Meph runs like this and was pretty happy with the results. The 374% is pretty good as well--Hell Council and Shenk/Eldrich/Pindle will cough up decent stuff like Trang Oul's armor and gloves aafter a while. I got M'Vaina's diadem off Eldrich which is kind of odd because it is TC87 in 1.10+. If you are looking for specific high-TC set stuff, rack running is best, but to generally fill out your collection, Hell Council is the best bang for your buck.

Has anyone cubed a prismatic +2 class skill amulet? I've cubed a few +1 class skill amulet (the best being +1 barb skills with 20+ resists and +10 STR) and a +2 cold skill tree, but no +3 skill tree or +2 class skills.

Additionally, does anyone have any anecdotes about MF in Normal? I seem to get a lot more magic items while questing with a 4 PTopaz gothic plate than without.

So I finally got more than one verision working on my computer after many years of wanting to.

Loaded up v1.07 seems much more play style slower and more methodical.

Anyways, I found an etheral superior quilted armor last night and noticed that it had 63% Enhanced Defence, is that an error or just how v1.07 shows the etheral bonus?

Oh and I did notice all the different displays for affixes almost like playing a completely new game, . . . almost.

Brief character update:

S_words the axe frenzy barb got up to level 68 and killed Hell Meph at the cost of 3 potions. Leap Attack got me past the extra-fast conviction Council pack and the HF SU council guy to the right, straight into Meph's lap. This left the merc to deal with the Hydras/Conviction/HF guy offscreen and somehow she didn't die while I frenzied Meph and drank 3 full rejuvs. The exact opposite of the travincal council experience which required 3 trips to town to get more rejuvs and axe repairs. Manaburn/stoneskin/teleport on one council SU and LE/ES/EF on another. No decent drops, but no NDEs. I was running LK for a shadow plate rack to complete Aldur's set, but I got bored with it since it wouldn't stay stable and moved on to Kurast Bazaar. On my 10th run, Gerke's Sanctuary dropped--wow this thing is good! 15 MDR/PDR and +1 vitality per level plus some other mods means that it is likely going on Fireface in short order. Resists are 75/7/75/-20 with 2500 life, so A4 is going to be easier than most, but not a cakewalk. No CBF gear for this guy yet.

Fireface the Hurricane/Hunter smashed his way through most of NM A5. The Ancients killed all but my Solar Creeper and HotW before I dispatched the last one with Buriza socekted with an Eth rune. Most the time I don't even need the xbow, as Hurricane was at L25 with + skills gear and the 3 L30 Dire Wolves + HotW + Might merc kill so quickly that I spend all my time running and recasting. I'm still wearing Sigon's Shelter and Spirit Shroud, but this armor is quickly becoming my favorite for A4 and A5 in NM--CBF, 10 pts MDR, and +1 skills make up for the lack of resists. This is the first character I've ever used Steel GCs on instead of +max damage due to his horrible AR on his own, but if Hell makes Buriza a poor choice I may have to switch them out for resist charms and keep the Spirit Shroud for the MDR and skills as the Gerke's will get socketed with a PDiamond. That CBF is pretty sweet as well, allowing me to reposition my Hurricane at will and get behind my meat shields.

I took Klaatu_Barata, the Bone/Golemancer out for a jaunt in the Arcane Sanctuary on Normal and the 4 PSapphire Gothic plate was an excellent choice. He throws spears and curses at will, though at L19 he is far from finished--lots of good twinking heads and wands coming up at L30!

I think I'm going to try out Cleglaw's set on my L6 paladin, though dropping the IAS of Arctic or Sigon's will be hard. The DS and increased damage of the sword is pretty tempting, though.

I tried out BF on my Assassin with + skills gear and it doesn't appear that poison carries over. However, CB may. The damage seems too swingy to just do the LCS damage, and I don't think it is taking 3/4 claw damage. Death Sentry is a beast even at L9 on Hell.

Do the huge life leech glove crafts ever spawn on the lesser blood recipe? I've done a lot more of those crafts than the greater glove ones but so far I've only seen the 30-ish% life leech on the greater glove craft results. I don't have a ton of data so I'm wondering if this agrees with others experiences.

Also, by my (weak) computations, it appears that the magic-only +3 skill tree affixes could in theory appear on lesser crafted blood gloves (heavy gloves) of ilvl 63. Has anyone ever seen those? There is potential for some ridiculously nice gloves there, if so. I'm pretty sure the +3 skill trees can't spawn on the greater (vampirebone gloves) crafts, but I have seen +2 on both so far.

+3 skill tree is an affix to the gloves so as long as the ilvl of the gloves is high enough to get that affix then it could potentially drop on that glove. You'd have to check what ilvl it would take to get that affix based on the qlvl of the item in question.

I got my 23% LL blood gloves from the lesser craft recipe. I've probably crafted 60-70 pairs of blood gloves and only gotten on mega-leech and 3 or 4 mana leech instead of life leach. No +3 skill tree gloves yet but one or two +2 MA or J&S gloves. Most of my heavy gloves are ilvl 80ish (gambled).

Questing Update:
Fireface got a serious regearing to get from 110 STR to the 133 required for Geirke's Sanctuary. Immortal King's gloves helped tremendously, allowing me to wear better rare resist rings and keep my resists 75/20/75/-30. Ice Boars in the WSK were a piece of cake with the added 15 MDR/15 PDR/+55 vitality of the shield. Baal's minions were a joke: I stood right at the foot of the stairs and just cast Hurricane until they were all dead. I shot off a few bolts at Lister & Co because they killed my merc who was wearing Hwanin's armor + bill and a 24% resist all/2 PDR helm. The 24/24 resist/PDR helm and 30 FR/30LR/12 PDR/+6 STR armor are both in Hell on my barb and his merc, so I expected Fireface to spend a few bucks on ressurections.

Baal and his clone sandwiched me and killed off everyone but me, and after 11 full rejuvs he fell to my Buriza + multiple recasts of Dire Wolves + HotW. Baal actually dropped me something decent in Suicide Branch. I'll probably park this guy for a bit, or rerun A5 to level up a bit as I need the superior resist gear that S_words the barb has for the merc and myself. Spirit Shroud is offically my favorite NM caster armor at this point.

Next up: A4 Hell for the frenzy Barb and another truncated Hellforge reward. I hope to get from L69 to L71 so I can FINALLY equip the Berserker Axes I crafted 6+ months ago--they're the whole reason I made this character!

Thanks, that's great to know that there is a chance with the lesser recipe. I haven't had any come up with that yet but I can't complain as I've had good luck with the greater ones so far!

You have done excellent job with 1.07 version. I found many intresting moments in this thread.
Presently I play in 1.08.
Sry, but i can't find "search" button in forum menu and thread about 1.08.
But i can find this quote in Repusz's 1.07 Guide:
"The base idea is that v1.07 racks (and v1.08 ones as well... but that's another story) can drop any qlvl item types that are available for them."(c)

Somebody know this "another story"?:)

Basically the racks drop 1:800 uniques in 1.08 rather than 1:1000 in 1.07. However, magic find is non-funtional in 1.08. Check the stickies, under "versions" for a better explanation.

Well, I finally got back to my new Javazon today and beat Hell. I'm level 66 now and working on cow runs. All in all, I'm pretty happy so far. My gear was good enough to get me through the game with only 110 base str and 100 base vita... all the rest is going in dex. I've maxed LF, CS, and Pierce, since those are my main cow-mob killers. Still trying to decide between Jab and Fend to finish off stragglers.

Also, is it worth my effort to try to get ahold of a Titans? Right now I'm using a magical matty with +2 Zon and +58 max dmg. It works alright, but there's got to be something better out there!

I landed one nice small charm last night:

snake's small charm of vita
11 mana 19 life

It doesn't compare with some other charms but for an untwinked sorc. its a really nice one to find.

I also found 3 + max damage charms in a row the best of which was a +4 max damage small charm.

At level 40 I am at act 5 nightmare, way ahead of where I should be for leveling purposes but eh oh well I wanna make it through Hell before worrying too much about level. Plus FO is incredibly powerful for 1.07 as I have seen. Still holding 9 skill points for Cold mastery when I level.

By the by is there anywhere I can get the skill level amounts for 1.07, I am kind of interested in what does what damage at what level?
