patch: what do you think?

they going to release a patch with the ladder reset?

what we "know"
D2 patch in the works was confirmed in march
Blizz usually announce the pach before they release it

Re: patch: what do you think?

I don't expect there to be a patch, but the reset comes much earlier than I expected. I can't remember earlier resets, but 1 year is really short. Either they want to make the seasons shorter for some reason, or they want to make some changes ...

If you want to know how long previous ladder seasons lasted look in the sticky.

No patch? No point! That's my opinion. Given that logic it would be almost stupid not to release one. Ofcourse, Blizzard doesn't always seem to operate on logic.

Re: patch: what do you think?

maybe with the reset starting so quickly there will be a new patch.:ponder:

Re: patch: what do you think?

ok guys 1.12 is here! and its just a patch for the blizzard store(no cd):D

- Patch 1.12
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Downloadable Installer Support

- If all required Diablo 2 '.MPQ' files are installed on the
hard drive, the game will no longer require the CD to play.

For users that originally performed a 'Full Installation'
and wish to run without the CD, all '.MPQ' files should
be copied from the Diablo 2 CDs to the Diablo 2 directory.
Most users will only need to copy D2Music.mpq from the
Diablo 2 Play CD and/or D2xMusic.mpq from the Lord of
Destruction CD. Mac users will need to copy these music
files and rename them to 'Diablo II Music' and
'Diablo II Expansion Music' respectively.

Anyone who did not perform a 'Full Installation' will need
to re-install from CD again to ultimately play without the CD.
In this case, a 'Full Installation' is required, followed by file
copy step noted above.

Bug Fixes

- Fixed an incompatibility between Rosetta and OpenGL mode on Intel Mac.

Re: patch: what do you think?

I just downloaded a patch as well when trying to connect to bnet  So you won't need a CD anymore to play the game? Just install and go? Awesome! :jig:

Does this mean I can install D2 twice on my laptop (e.g. install, rename the Diablo II map to for example Diablo 2, and install again) and run it twice? Since that would be too awesome.

Btw where did you find that upgrade information?

Re: patch: what do you think?

Wow, they are actually through with the reset. All my old characters are NL and I just created a ladder char and started a game !

#1 on the ladder ranking is currently a L6 character :D

Re: patch: what do you think?

I think this is the last patch. the last patch in warcraft 3 was no cd requirement, so i guess it will be that for diablo too. Shame though, some bugs never got fixed
