D2 Ladder Reset 1 Week Away!!

Re: D2 Ladder Reset 1 Week Away!!

of course not, but what is the sense of discussing anything and expressing dissatisfaction if you can just say "if you don't like it, don't play it"..

It's not a "express your support for the ladder reset" thread. ^_^ I have the rights to complain, I think.

I knew how it works, but I expected a much longer ladder tbh. 10 months or so doesn't seem satisfying. I like the idea of ladder resets, but only if accompanied by an important change, i.e. new patch. Otherwise, it's the same old duping/shoping/botting spree again.

Re: D2 Ladder Reset 1 Week Away!!

I remember last re-set blizzard announced how they were going to be doing regular re-sets, because everyone was complaining about how long the last season lasted. They mentioned like doing one every 6 months, but people said that was too short so they said it would probably be around once a year.

Re: D2 Ladder Reset 1 Week Away!!

Why dont they create an option for characters "Convert to Non-Ladder", like the other "Convert to Expansion"? And from that on, if anybody wants to go to Non-ladder, then he can do it, but the others (and i think this group has more members...) can remain at ladder...At least blizzard would release a new patch, then i would say "ok, at least we get sg new!"...

Re: D2 Ladder Reset 1 Week Away!!

Looking forward to the reset of the ladder. Will be nice starting over on equal terms... But this brings me to what I have read in this thread. How easy is it to cheat/dupe your way to great gear? If it is true what has been stated by some people in this thread that you will find people with great gear on day one then I am a slightly bit disapointed with blizzard... (sorry if this is a common question, but i would like to know). Any chance a new patch would fix this?

Re: D2 Ladder Reset 1 Week Away!!

How easy? An ordinary d2 player has no clue how to dupe/cheat, don't worry. The dupe methods are not a public knowledge. It would mean less profits for the shops if the method was well known, you know. And most likely it would be easier to fix.

That doesn't change a damn thing ofc. You will most likely see ppl in high end runewords day one. That makes the "fresh start" blizzard advertises a sad irony. That's why I think reseting the ladder is pointless.

It's pointless as long as the corrupted, bugged dupe-based system exists, and we all know it's not impossible to stop duping. It's a simple game, and they have talented programmers. If they put a bit of effort in it, I'm sure it would be solved in no time.

But they don't care, so I'd personally prefer them not caring at all rather then half-caring and reseting the ladder without taking botting/dupping spree into consideration.

You also can't ignore the influence of forum gold that can be considered a third party application (at least that's what I consider it, although I had an episode there, mostly because it's the best place to look for rare items.. sadly). JSP destroyed the original economy of d2 and replaced it with their own - well, much better, to be honest - system, and who doesn't want to participate in it can't compete in the race to wealth. Sorry, but it's _not_ possible to be rich and NOT to be a d2jsper user. period.

Re: D2 Ladder Reset 1 Week Away!!

I disagree. I had plenty of wealth during my playing time and I have not once ventured to said site.

People who know how to trade can become wealthy without having to use funny money.

Re: D2 Ladder Reset 1 Week Away!!

It's easy to become wealthy without the use of D2JSP, it's simple trading. Buy low, sell high, it's not that difficult.

Re: D2 Ladder Reset 1 Week Away!!

Well... with this reset coming, I think its WoW time!!!

Its been fun diablo community, but I don't feel like putting time into a whole new ladder, thats really just the same game... over and over and over.

The fun for me was collecting cool items, getting wealthy, and helping others. But since all the time I put in is now worthless in the NL area, I think I'm going to call it quits.

its been fun. Its been real. Thanks for all the help. Maybe I'll login to NL every once in a while (if I can remember to do it every what is it, 60 or 90 days?) and catch some of you on there.

Otherwise, hit up my (almost) level 40 mage on WoW, Shahira.

you completely miss the point of being "wealthy", guys. It's not about having 20 HRs in stash. It's about having a thousand or more. Check d2jspers' accounts and see how much HRs do they have.. most of them have hundreds-thousands atm.

Besides, to "buy cheap, sell expensive" you have to idle in games, wait for occasions.. spend countless hours for a boring activity (sorry, who likes to create games and wait for ppl to come..)

And even that will never bring you close to the said site's users.

I think exactly the same and I'll do exactly the same ;)

Yeesh, like there's any difference between having 100 HRs and having 1000.
Yes dupes and bots are a terrible plague on D2, but you're really exaggerating the inequality.

sure there is. 100 HRs for a godly craft is a rather cheap price. You would obviously never afford the best ones.

Not that you actually care about the best crafts, but.. :whistling:

Re: D2 Ladder Reset 1 Week Away!!

So I'm in the UK...What time on the 17th will I be able to create a new char and start playing?

I guess the fun of starting a new ladder is the fact that the MAJORITY of people ARE NOT super rich JSP bot running jack asses who have 50k fg

So for the most part you can join games with your friends and play with other like minded people and exp the way your supposed to.

As for which chars to start the new ladder with I'll probably make 2.
1. a char that can solo mf +Key run. Most likely a sorc who uses the moat trick but possibly a java or H'din

2. A team-play oriented char. one that would strugle to solo with-out uber gear but would shine in a group of 3 or 4. Might be nice to go old skool and make an AVENGER!!! or a PoisenNova/Summon/lower res Neccy.

on the 17th I'll be in channel public chat etf ...Hope to see a bunch of you there and we can get to exp'n!!

Re: D2 Ladder Reset 1 Week Away!!

I am happy about the ladder reset to be honest. I was looking for a reason to start over. This time around I was even thinking about playing Hardcore for the first time, (and getting some form of pked during a pub game :tombstone: yes I did my research). But its typical that it pops up 2 weeks after I found my first SOJ and 2nd Mal from the countess lol.

But I will most likely just delete my characters and gear instead of throwing it down in a Free4All game where most of the people are either to lazy to MF for there own gear and try to make you feel sorry for them, or they are especially greedy rich already and are just looking to make more wealth off the sweat of others.

You could probably find some nice noobs on here and distribute the gear to them. The people here are generally nicer. THats what I'm going to be doing I think.
