Crafting Hit Power gloves for a Strafer
After LOTS of Countess running for Orts with a different char, I ended up crafting at least 45 Hit Power gloves. I was aiming for 20% IAS and some other nice mods on a pair for my Strafer (currently lvl 48) and I'm not totally satisfied with the results (didn't get 20% IAS on a single one, only 5 with 10% IAS), but a couple could work. Best of the lot are:
Cruel Fist
Heavy Bracers
Defense: 40
Durability: 16 of 16
Required Strength: 58
Required Level: 34
Item Version: 1.10+ Expansion
Item Level: 58
Fingerprint: 0xad1875e3
Attacker Takes Damage of 3
23% Better Chance of Getting Magic Items
Knockback
+5 to Light Radius
10% Increased Attack Speed
5% Bonus to Attack Rating
5% Chance to cast Level 4 Frost Nova when struck
Carrion Grasp
Heavy Bracers
Defense: 39
Durability: 10 of 16
Required Strength: 58
Required Level: 34
Item Version: 1.10+ Expansion
Item Level: 52
Fingerprint: 0xefa30d48
Cold Resist +10%
Attacker Takes Damage of 6
Knockback
+5 to Light Radius
10% Increased Attack Speed
5% Bonus to Attack Rating
5% Chance to cast Level 4 Frost Nova when struck
I'm now out of PSapphires so unless I decide to run LK with my Blizz sorc for more flawless sapphires it looks like those are the best I'll get.
I did the crafting with the Strafer starting at lvl 43, but mostly at lvl 48. The glove ingredients were mostly heavy bracers - some gambled by a parked lvl 60 character, but that took too long so I switched to gambling with a lvl99 char (leveled in 1.09 but now in 1.10). Before I started I had aimed at doing all the crafts at lvl 43 with ilvl 43 items (all the affixes I wanted would be available as far as I could tell), but I realized that unless I settled for chain gloves I would never be able to gamble enough heavy bracers at that lvl. Did I make a mistake in using higher ilvl gloves?
Has anyone managed to craft ideal Strafer gloves - something like 20% IAS and some combination of +2 Bow or Passive skills, mana or life steal, or other useful mods - and if so, how many craft attempts did it take? Am I being unrealistic to expect better rolls in 45 tries?
