The quest for level 99- progress thread

Also, JJscud, what strategy did you use for getting your Zon to 99. Did you just get a nice map and run down to Baal's throne room or did you use something like Enigma to teleport there? Thanks!

He ran. 92-93 is not really the breakpoint. It takes roughly 3 hours of running. 91-92 takes 2. From 94 and up you can roughly estimate twice the amount of runs compared to the previous level until you hit 97 and 98.

I just found a nice map and ran. I also killed most boss packs along the way, it slowed down my runs to about 4.5 - 5 minutes but I think it was worth it.

Also, those run counts are for any runner doing p8/p3 runs.

Got to level 91 off of a mix of p1 and p5 Pindle depending on if I felt like going for experience or getting the runs as fast as possible. I'm preparing for the MFO right now so its going to be all p1 until after that. After the MFO i'll bump it up to p5. The experience is still pretty good at p5.

edit: Realized I'm about half way experience wise, which is about 1/400 of the way time wise!! woot woot!

I made a new barb about 3 days ago and it's been fairly easy leveling him. No he's not hacked, like I admit the 99 necro was (but still, that was an okay arguement >.<)
Right now I've been doing nightmare Shenk and Eldritch runs on /p8 and it takes about 2-3 minutes per run and I level about every 2-3 runs now :D
 
By the way, if you're using items found with your 'lvl 99 necro' then your barb is considered hacked as well. The items would be considered tainted.
 
I deleted my necro after you guys found out he was hacked, there was no point in keeping a nooby necro that cant do more than 4k damage =\
So no, there's no hacked items or items found by hacked characters on him.
 
No offense but there's really something wrong with that...
I said I didn't use hacks for this char, which is true, and yet you're still telling me to get rid of any hacking programs, which is implying you still think I'm using hacks, which would make the point of saying I got rid of the hacks utterly useless....

Edit: Btw, if you didn't notice, there's a difference between a level 69 and a level 60....

You did say before that your necro was legit, and then you admit it wasn't. Now you're saying you don't use hacks anymore. You lied before, so it's natural to be skeptic after that.

I'm not trying to flame you, I'm just pointing out some logic behind where he's coming from.

It's not like my life is that boring that I need to completely fill it with lies and arguements o.O

Edit: Also why would I make him so low if I really did hack him? I would of made him atleast 80 or so, so he could use all the runewords and uniques that his build needs to really be any good

As far as testing goes with with editors, if you have any idea of what 99 is like, you would not use hero editors to test builds.

Furthermore, your hacked test barb had eBotD + Beast + Enigma which strongly suggests you intend to use similar gear on your level 60 barb as well. After all, it'd be counter-intuitive...downright stupid even...to test the viability of a character using equipment far out of reach for the typical player.

Given all of the above, I'd say it's natural that people distrust you.

1) Then how'd I get a 60 barb on sp, and five+ 70+ on multiplayer? Last time I checked, you can't use more than a mh on multiplayer without getting banned. It's typically the same thing, except on single you get no help.

1) I didn't put forth much effort into doing that, necros don't wow me much.
2) Doesn't mean I use it for every character

Well, why wouldn't I intend to use it? It's not impossible, do LK runs and Countess runs in hell for the runes to cube....
I have not gotten it yet, and if I wanted to get it hacked, I would of have done that already, so stop jumping to conclusions.

Just because I hacked on 2 characters (and 1 of them for testing purposes) doesn't mean I'm going to do it on all of them.

Edit: Once again, I don't honestly care if you people believe me. This is the last time I'm going to post on this matter. I'm not going to say he's hacked just so you people stop picking at the subject, because he is not hacked, and I will stick with that even if it sends me to the most hated person on these forums, it's my achievement and I am proud of that, even if no one except my closest friends believe me.

eBotD+Beast+Enigma is way out of your sights. Seriously. If you're thinking of Countess runs as a viable way to get the runes for it, sorry to disappoint you but you've got some misconceptions about the relative rarity of runes. Try a few years of straight Hellforge rushing instead.

As for getting to level 99, it's evident that you don't have the slightest idea what it really means to get it. I'm not trying to insult you here, I'm just trying to give you a reality check. There has been only one single player 99er Barbarian to date (a Wolfbarb), and that took many months or so by the richest, craziest, and arguably the best SP player ever.

Regarding trust and legitimacy, maybe your new barb is hacked, maybe it isn't. Your argument "I've already hacked once and admitted to hacking, so why would I hack again?" is not just faulty, but illogical. If you've hacked once, chances are you will hack again. Finally admitting to your necro being obviously hacked doesn't redeem you. You have to earn trust, and as you said yourself, you're pretty low on the ladder right now.
 
@NinjaSoD: I'd like to take a look at this character, which will hopefully some questions answered. Can you e-mail your barb (which all of his equimpent) to [email protected] please?

I'm just pulling NinjaSOD back off of the table. He didn't want to cooperate with my investigation into his character, and so he has been told to stay off of the ladder from now on.
