You are bringing up moot points, and obviously have no idea of basic economics and customer service.
I'll sum it up for you:
You pay more, you get more. It's that simple.
Saying that it's Blizz's fault for not selling uniques and linking it to your dissatisfaction that they will not improve this game has no real logic in it.
No, I choose to
ignore basic economics. There is a difference. And saying "You pay more, you get more" is not only oversimplifying it, but it's total BS in this case... we were never even given the choice to pay more.
This is the equivalent of telling me that I shouldn't vote or even bother discussing political issues because, in reality, the system is too screwed up. Or that if I'm paralyzed and will never walk again, that I shouldn't even bother to try, and should focus on building up my arm muscles for all that wheelchairing. These are fine pragmatic viewpoints. And I will never, ever settle for that.
Yes, this whole discussion is moot, okay? Unless I am the fracking President of Blizzard, every discussion we have about stuff like this is moot. We discuss these things because it's fun to rant and think and argue and whatever. If you're annoyed by it... go away.
My comment about Blizz (not) selling items was to point out that, if smarter financial decisions had been made, Diablo could have outgrossed even WoW. Hindsight is always 20/20. Blizzard made a decision by making Battle.net free to D2 players. So if it's true the D2 servers cost them money and this results in neglect... then every decision they made is responsible for that neglect. That's the logic.
Simple version: company makes perfect car and sells it with free maintenance for life. 10 years later, the maintenance is still free, but it takes forever and the service is piss-poor. If the company claims it is losing money on the free maintenance, then it either needs to stop it and start charging, or it needs to take responsibility and suck it up and do the thing properly. I will never, ever, ever accept s*** customer service when I pay good money for a product.
Of course, that means I'm a total idiot and have no idea of basic economics, right?
