Ladder reset time???

1 ?, when has bliz been on time for anything?
itll probably be late tonight or early tomorrow before reset takes place

okay... either the ladder is reseting, or i got temp bant for swithcing games so often trying to get another nigma before the reset.... i cant tell which... i got the “Your Connection Has Been Temporarily Restricted” message...

bummer

Starcraft is waaay overrated if you ask me. Sure, it's good. But i'd much rather play wc3 instead. I know there is a long time between them, and starcraft was good at the time it was realeased, but not really now.

Diablo will suck because the majority of the players are jerks, a conclusion derived from observations of the denizens on bnet forums as well as bnet itself

Don't play with the majority...just play with people from here. So far i have not had a single problem with any of the people i play with on these forums.

You're right, it is my problem. And? But as to the rest of it, see below...
And... nothing. As you said, I'm right with it, that's what I wanted to hear  I was under the impression that you think it is insulting to all us while it's only you who feels insulted (and probably a few others) :azn:

This is where we disagree: I have every right to demand improvements. If I buy a car with a 10-year warranty, or a lifetime one, I have the right to expect the company to deliver upon that promise. I paid for this game. The fact that it's "old" or that the online service is "free" does not change this in any respect. We are all (well, most of us) customers of Blizzard. If Diablo2 came out today, yes, they'd charge us for the servers just like they do with WoW -- but at the time, a decision was made that B.net would be free. That doesn't mean "free and neglected after it's no longer profitable".
If you buy something, you don't have a right for any improvements at all (respectively, you can demand whatever you want, but you won't get it), not for free ones and even not for those which you would have to pay for. I'm a little surprised that you are actually believe that.

You don't have warranty on the game and in particular you don't have a right to play on bnet, just an option. That option can be canceled by Blizzard at any time, without a justification IIRC. All you can expect is bug fixes, but only to what you paid for. Bnet came for free and you can use it as it is (the EULA says it IIRC), that's all, so you don't have a right for bugfixes regarding bnet (although Blizzard is fixing bugs on bnet... at their own pace, in their own way).

Beyond that, Blizzard probably wants to keep us just happy or unhappy enough to gain the maximum benefit from it, either by making money or by preventing us to spend money on competing products. That can be achieved by free improvements and bug fixes, but it comes without any warranty and without any obligations.

I don't like the fact that some Hobbit-loving (expletive deleted)ers are getting the royal treatment simply because some marketers determined that they were better customers than you and me. And I detest the fact that D2's "brand of fantasy" is looked down upon, and that this has now extended into the neglect of the game I love.

And you're right, there's nothing I can do about it except to *****. But I am who I am and I love what I love and I like being angry about this, because one day, maybe I'll get angry enough to do something about it. :)
It's no surprise that those who spend more money on gaming will get better treatment. Blizzard is a commercial company, i.e. their primary goal is making as much money as possible. I don't like it as well, but I had enough time to either get used to it, to change it or to ensure that I'm on the side of those who benefit from such a system :azn:

Ah, but there's the last question/issue/problem: whoever said that the "Warcraft crowd" would spend more than the "Diablo crowd"? Yes, the Warcraft crowd is more willing to pay monthly fees, but the D2 crowd was - at least at one point - willing to spend thousands in US dollars on eBay accounts and items. I acknowledge that Blizzard does not make any money off that eBay stuff directly, but that's their own damn fault - frankly, I think if they'd been smart enough to sell unique items on their own site instead of allowing 3rd party companies/players to do it, we wouldn't be having this discussion.

To answer my own question above, obviously some marketers or Blizz executives decided this, or perhaps they decided that it would be easier to deal with. In many ways, this is best summed up as "RenFair v. ComicCon" - it's not about the level of obsession, but rather, the perception is that RenFair types have a higher average income and less aggression, whereas the bottom end for comic/film geeks is very, very poor and far more willing to complain about little things (see; THIS THREAD, and that includes me).

So anyway, yeah, I hate it, I disagree with it, and it'll be interesting to see what the D2/Hellgate team does with the same conundrum - they announced a few weeks ago that Hellgate's server will be free to all, but you have to pay $10 a month in order to get the larger inventory, more characters per account, and to not have to wait for "queues" to get in pubby games (can you imagine that here? lines?). And rumor has it that they -will- control the sales of their unique items. So, maybe someone else out there already beat me to this? Like the people who created it in the first place?

I hope no body confuses me DeusEx for the other guy DeusX

I don't think you have anything to worry about, mate. You had 6 posts before this one.

Me, on the other hand; you could destroy my stellar reputation as a Diablo One True God by posting silly little rants and making strange trades. Hmmm...

I'm going to sue you.

You are bringing up moot points, and obviously have no idea of basic economics and customer service.
I'll sum it up for you:
You pay more, you get more. It's that simple.
Saying that it's Blizz's fault for not selling uniques and linking it to your dissatisfaction that they will not improve this game has no real logic in it.
