Wolfbarbs-The ultimate guide (Revised verson)

I've actually seen NewForumBloke's gear, and it was pretty decent as with his sexy 4os griz caddy, all he needed was a fortitude to complete his wolfbarbness.

ive built a wolfbarb recently.im having real trouble vs smiters(and got a couple of questions).they just charge and beat the hell out of me.also other skills like freeze ,teleport, life tap cannot be casted when in werewolf from.
gear is usual . use eth prudence armor...and duress in different situations.

life:6.5k
armor:20-22k
ar:20k
uses shaeld gris caddy.

does range matters when attacking in warewolf worm?

ive gone through most of this thread but stillcant find how to fight good smiters.
pls advice.

Wolfbabas have no chance against 'good' smiters. It's preferable that you have some points into WW and try your chance with that.

i was thinking of dualwilding gris caddy with +14 frostwind the just before transforming casting arctic blast. That would give me around 2-3 sec of advantage.I dont think they got 'cannot be freeze' when fighting against baba.
Also stacking my inventory with 5-10 dual cold damage sc's.that would give me .5 sec of freeze per sc.

What u guys think?

Thats really 'out there' but I still think timing all that is against your favor. Its likely a paladin will learn from it the first time and walk around it or likely Charge you to death before you switch then transform to w/s. In the smiter builds I've seen, they usually have a Raven Frost/xx ring combination, so your freeze thing wont work out...unless Im mistaken that Artic Blast has some 'chill' damage.

If your strat doesn't work, I believe adding 1pt into WW has more value as an off skill technique. If you still wanna try your freeze strat..try using a wand/balance axe with frozen orb charges or using Sureshrill Frost which has lvl 9 50 F. Orb charges. I think Orb has some 'chill' damage/slow properties non negateable by 'cannot be frozen.' BUT I could be mistaken.

I was just wondering, what are the thoughts on using a big two handed weapon? As long as it would just be for PVM It doesn't seem like it would be a problem.

Sorry for a late response. So long as it is really beneficial to your build then a second weapon can be useful. Thing like resistance (Wizard's Spike is perfect for this.) or special aura's, other than that you will want to stick with a shield. As far as I know, whatever skills you can put on your Wolfbarb that a Druid can use in Wolf form, will be usable by him as well.

For PvM it is fine. IMO the best two hander is ebotdgpa but there are other less expensive things that should work well too.

Just b/c it says very fast on the screen, doesnt mean that is always going to be that fast.

IF for PVP:

4x Sheal'd Griz Caddy
Greif PB
eBoTD Berzerker Axe
Sheal'd Azurewrath

IF for PVM:

eBoTD Berzerker
Sheal'd Azurewrath
BoTD PB
4x Sheal'd Griz Caddy
Greif PB

The PVM weapons really arent too much in way of an order, though the first 2 are my top choices as they have been reported to be the most effective in dmg and speed.

Good Luck,

The CB is a bit slower than the zerker, though imho the sheal'd azurewrath is a force to be reconded with in pvm, and not to mention you have to spend quite a bit more to use a CB then a zerker. The sheal'd azure though goes quicker than the ebotd zerker and the CB, AND it also provides a way to deal with physical immunes quite easily. Dont forget, the feral rage life leech you will be getting is quite huge in amount. I think my favorite pvm wolfbarb set up was somethin like this:

Wolfhowl (i dont get one w/o at least 3/5/5/5 and mild stats)
SS sheal'd
Duress
Sheal'd Azurewrath
Gores
Crafted Blood Gloves with 10% CB and some life leech or Dracs
8/15/15 String of Ears (or at least 7/15% dr/xx magic reduction)
Highlords
2x Raven Frost Rings

Switch: Eiter 2x Low Hoto's or 5 skill mang or 2x Spirit swords or ... i think u get the point, the most +skill items you can get for your switch the better.

That nets you all the cb that you will need for pvm, more than enough leech to regain all your life back, you can dispatch of physical immunes, not to mention that you'll have a lot of deadly strike. If you need the resist you can Um the WolfHowl too.

For pvm, tomb reaver is an excellent weapon for a werebarb, 60% built-in ias, 3 open sox and a lot of cool mods.(+style points for haveing a barb with revives! )

The weapon itself is quite good!
But is it unwise to PvM without a shield?

another noob question : is it expensive to trade a Wolfhowl helm?

HardyZ: I honestly havent tested out 2 handers on a wolfbarb for pvm, and if i would have to suggest any 2 hander for pvm for a wolfbarb it probably would be the tomb or eth gpa. Only thing about those is that weilding them you would have a bit of a problem when you would come across a PI, where as the Azure/SS (ive heard pheonix is a mild pvm sheild so long as you dont care about block, the aura is very helpful) dont have to worry since Azure has that wonderful magic dmg and such.

Quentin: Pretty much i would say you could get a wolfhowl, considering it has mild/mid stats, for pgems. The most ive ever paid for a wolfhowl was my damn near perf eth wolfhowl which costed me 3 hrs i believe. For pvm though eth is NOT needed, and if anything is a henderance. A highend one shouldnt cost you more than a hr-2 hr.

Remember, the 2x LOW hoto switch is so freaking amazing for the buff its almost indescribable lol. Please... dont spend 3 hr+ for a 40 res hoto that your only going to buff with as your bo weapons on switch lol...

This build has no chance against a smiter peroid. I how ever will be making one tho :)

Thats what I was thinking too but someone here said something about wearing a 21 lvl thornes bramble and with the huge life u got, pala may kill himself.I dont know if it works, that guy said yes.Another thing that I add is to put off the shield and wear a doomaxe after you prebuff with fade from lastwish.

Does zero-unit still play?

i made a new wolf barb, currently lvl 86 and he isnt doing too good

gear:
wolfhowl
angelic amy
+2 valor
ss with -15 req. jewel ( didn't socket it )
4 x shael griz caddy
bloodfist ( tryin to go for rends atm )
raven
dungos
gores

got around 3.7k health
18k defense
11k AR
65fhr
Full DR

he's on ladder so charms are basically non-existent, do not have an anni or torch, and combat mastery GC's are pretty expensive nowadays on ladder.
