I'm not sure on this. I know my friends have said they've found the keys on single player but you cannot open any portals. SO I would imagin the same thing would happen on open. Which would make the portals and what's conatined in them Realms only.

Well, in singleplayer you can get the keys, but you can't open portals, I have every reason to assume it's the on open bnet.
