socketing a crystal sword..

alright, instead of trying to trade for a 4 OS crystal sword, i plan on using the socket quest from larzuk to socket one myself. first question, is this possible? second, where should i hunt for the sword, so that the ilvl is high enough to get 4 sockets?

Crystal sword and its elite and exceptional versions will get 6OS from Larzuk. So, you need to find 4OS sword or try to use cube (1 Ral Rune + 1 Amn Rune + 1 Perfect Amethyst + Normal Weapon) for soceting, but chance of getting 4OS is low.

Crystal Sword
if ilvl 1-25 = 3 socs max
if ilvl 26-40 = 4 socs max
if ilvl 40+ = 6 socs max

so you are aiming to use the socket quest on a crystal sword dropped by a monster who's level is 26-40 or most of Act4&5 normal and some Act 1 NM but unless you spot the exact monster that drops it you could still end up too high or low!

I just did norm bloody runs, only took two or three clears to find one.

beware about that list on max sockets. I saw that list that and decided to socket quest a crystal sword found somewhere in act 5 (ilvl 31 or 32) as the list said 4 sockets. Suprisingly (and unhappily) i got a 6 socket crystal sword, instead of the 4 i wanted. So...if someone happens to want a 6 socket crystal sword....my account is Rhaegar100...
