Looks like the ladder is going to have to live without me for a while.

Well, I won't be playing D2 until this problem I have is fixed. I've been getting TONS of pop-ups lately. Even when I don't have IE open. I'm playing D and all of a sudden, COLORS! Bright purple and pink colors spam my screen and I cannot see a thing. I have to hit the windows key, exit out of the pop-up, and then go back into the game to fix the colors. Almost died once already and I'm not going to risk it until it is fixed.

I've fun Ad-Aware SE, Spybot Search and Destroy, and Norton Antivirus. No help. ATM, I chose the "scan for ads" option on Ad-Aware with 16 results so far. I doubt deleting them will do anything, it hasn't before. I've also set my pop-up blocker to "Max: Block all" They still get through.

So if anyone has had this problem and knows what the hell to do, I'd appreciate if you'd let me know. The ladder NEEDS "LLama-Secks"!!

The only sure way to get rid of them that I can think of is to backup all your important files, format your hard drive, and re-install windows. Not the most ideal scenario, but the only way that's guaranteed to rid you of the problem.

You should wait until you get more feedback before you do something that drastic though.

I believe there are also some other programs that may be able to fix it, but I can't think of them off the top of my head.

I definately do NOT want to do something that drastic just yet. If it gets to be such a problem that I cannot fix it and I've tried everything, then will be the time I try that.

Check for programs that have been installed and remove them using add/remove. And check the registry too.

Happened to me once when my brother used my computer...

One thing you can do is focus on what the pop-ups are and investigate the problem on e.g. google or antivirus/antispam sites.

But really, that'll teach you for downloading haxx Valar!

my first few hours on ladder werent too succesful either, lvl 23 sorc now, rank WAS 447 when i quit but thats long in the past. Her merc owns anything in sight still in a3, no worries there, I can solo.

And now I'm off to get my knee checked, its been hurting like hell for the past month.

Think I found the problem. Norton just got done scanning and found six problems. It could fix three, but the other three, it could not.

I googled them but the solutions are pretty complex for me. If any of you know about these and know a simple solution to getting rid of them, mind telling me?

IE has way too many security holes.

Norton should let you simply click on each individual problem and automatically direct you to Norton's own description and solution page.

There was a stretch of time back at school when I had to do this every day just to keep up with all the crap on my computer. It may seem complicated at first, but just read through everything step-by-step and it'll get easier and easier. If it tells you to edit the registry you may have to print the page out and restart in safe mode. In fact, if I had to do it again, I would click on each problem, print out the whole page, restart in safe mode, and wipe everything out as directed. Sometimes if you don't start in safe mode Norton can't access the problem to get rid of it.

Anyway, as complicated as it may seem, the solutions they give are still better than having to reformat. PM me if you have any questions.

Guys, it's not pr0n I swear! The only sites I really visit is this one, ytmnd, and a certain WoW forum. Those are on a daily basis. It may have been from a site that I've only visited once.

I'll rerun Norton and see if I can click on each one and find the solution page. If that somehow doesn't work, I'll look into the information from Tooie. All when I get home from work.

Actually I must confess Valar, it was me, Dahkar and I have been planning to rid the net of IE, so all of our spam has actually just been a cover, anyone who runs IE will soon be making posts luike this...
