Full aldur's set purpose?

Full aldur's set purpose?

well, i wanted to use full aldur's set for the fun of it, but thinking about it, i can hardly see a build that could take advantage of it, so i'm asking for inputs, especially from those that used full aldur's :xsmile:

I can imagine that that question must have been asked already, but i didn't find anything with the search function, maybe those threads got corrupted as well and deleted.

i had two ideas in fact:

- maybe add trang's gloves and make a rabies druid out of it with 3*eth runes in the weapon so i wouldn't have to care about AR. from what i've read, there's a debate on rabies being effective or not, so inputs would be appreciated ^_^

- or a pure summoner druid with maxed grizzly/spirit wolves/dire wolves/Heart of wolverine, put i'm not sure such a build can be of any efficiency in hell...here again, inputs are welcome :xsmile:

and if you have other suggestion, i'm open to them!

i want to do something out of aldur's set... :hanky:

Thx in advance.

Ps: if only the weapon was a devil star, or there was a set upgrade recipie... :hanky:.

350% extra damage when you get the full set tends, and a 9/5 fury if you dual shael the weapon, to make me lean towards a fury wolf with it. Although, a fury/rabies druid might not be bad with it... no idea. :)

Using the Dragoon calculator, it seems that one shael, with level 24 ww, which you should have with full Aldur's, gets you to 9/5.

To put it simply, you're using the calculator wrong. :)

That is a pretty smug response. Perhaps I am using it incorrectly, but I am definitely not using it wrong. OK, english lesson over.

This is exactly what I entered:

weapon type: Mace
Base speed: 10
wias: 50 (30 from the weapon and 20 from the shael)
non weapon ias: 0
WW skill: 24

This calculates to 5 frames.

It's opposite of the listing on arreat.
So, -10 on dragoons I beleive.

Hunters or Summoners do well in Hell. You just can't solo 8 players with it. If you're really worried about the damage drop some ED jewels or Ohms in it. Then the set ED will send it through the roof.

You used an adjective where you needed an adverb.

i have also been working on this problem on ladder .... my helm has 39 and 37 ed jewel in it and im gonna ed/ias the weapon ... gotta check to see if 3 x ed/ias will work or if i need a shael or 2 ... havent done complete research ... i also got a 39 ed jewel im gonna put into armor ... if it doesnt work oh well ... just doing it for testin purposes. He is also using gores ... 57/17 rends (i think) string, ravens, atmas, ss and other junk right now .... so im hoping all this ed will help ... but who knows.

Ya I crossed this phase a while back and took some time out considering some possibilities. In any case dueling is outa the question I think so pvm.

Fury Wolf A
Aldurs Set w/2 lo, 1 shael in mace 40% D
Lance Guard 20% D
Highlords Ammy 28% Deadly
which at level 76 to wear the armour **% Chance to do deadly.

Firebear Wolf

Cause you dont need speed if 1 hit kill.

But in the end I realized that its a waste of time unless you just want to tout your using Aldur's.

\Wrong\, adv. In a wrong manner; not rightly; amiss; morally ill; erroneously; wrongly

Edit: Feel free to try again.

And on a side note Fenris, you should try looking stuff up before you take sides. ;)

uhh... congrats on more smugness? :xrollseye

not saying you didn't prove your point. just saying your edits and sidenotes were a little much. Let's keep this druid forum friendly :xgrin:

Aldur's might be good for Rabies/Fury because the damage isn't that high, but Rabies relies on skills, so... Yeah. But it can have somewhat useful damage to help out.

Good luck.

Edit: As to the English discussion: Mepersoner's usage was correct, but not ideal. More of an accepted colloquiallism than anything, but nevertheless accepted.
