enhanced damge

can some 1 plz tell me how enhanced dmg works, today i had a mace that did somthing like 1-25. then i identifyed it and it got 33 enhanced damage, but it still did 1-25, then when i put it on my guy as a weapon, i went to my charater screen and it still said 1-25. : ( is it somthing thats calculated as you hit something such as deadly strike or critical hit.

EDIT: misunderstood the question ^_^
Yeah.. it probably a ED to undead...
since maces/club have inherent damage like that...
unlike in 1.09, its 150 ED :D

The item you mention is probably a magic flail.

Are you sure it had +33% enhanced damage? If so, then it shouldn't show as 1-25 damage. Maybe you confused it with "50% enhanced damage to undead," which is present on all mace items.

It should make the weapon do 2-200 damage. (right?)
yup! and that 2-200 (base) is modified by many other factors (strength, skills...) and yield the final result which is close to what you see in the character screen. however, it's usually not very accurate, hence the name LCS-lying character screen.

off-weapon/skill ED is multiplicative with on-weapon ED and additive among itself, right? i mean, is on-weapon ED calculated as base weapon dmg?

Note also that if your 100% ED weapon says it does 1-100 damage, then that's all you get; don't go multiplying your 1-100 by 100%, 'cause the modification is already shown. The base power of the weapon would be .5-50, and the damage the item lists takes the 100% ED into account and shows you that it truly does 1-100 damage.

However, ED %s to certain monster types (eg, the inherent 50% damage to undead in maces) are NOT shown on-weapon; therefore, the above weapon would do 1-100 damage to most monster types, but 1.5-150 damage to skellies, zombies, etc.

If you have a base weapon like:

Balrog Blade
One-Hand Damage: 15 to 75
Two-Hand Damage: 55 to 118
Durability: 26 of 50
Required Dexterity: 87
Required Strength: 185
Required Level: 53
Sword Class - Normal Attack Speed
Item Version: 1.10 Expansion
Item Level: 85
Fingerprint: 0x17caa90f
Socketed (4: 0 used)

then it gets enhanced damage it looks like this:

Cruel Balrog Blade of Slaughter
One-Hand Damage: 46 to 251
Two-Hand Damage: 171 to 384
Durability: 30 of 50
Required Dexterity: 87
Required Strength: 185
Required Level: 53
Sword Class - Normal Attack Speed
Item Version: 1.10 Expansion
Item Level: 85
Fingerprint: 0xd3cadb31
+211% Enhanced Damage
+18 to Maximum Damage
