New page

The information presented in these archived FotDs is now outdated, but that's often the most interesting thing about them, seeing how much the game has changed from then to now.

The original FotDs are indented and italicized. Explanatory comments below them were written by Flux at the time the FotDs were archived, usually a couple/few months after the original FotDs had been presented.

No notes in the temporary archives I've kept all along of the old FotDs, but clearly there was some sort of major loss this month, with just one FotD saved. At least it's an interesting one.

::''There are a were a lot of icons used early on in Diablo II's development that didn't make it into the final game. Artwork was modified or changed completely, and some skills were changed or removed. The icon to the left was for one of the Sorceress' Cold Armor skills. The three of them in the final game changed names and functions and icons many times. The right icon was for Familiar, a Necromancer scouting skill that didn't make the final game.

Even in late 2000 people were interested in changes that were made in the game before it was released, since even with all the pre-game excitement for Diablo II, most people didn't really pay it much attention until the beta, or the final release. So any of the changed/old stuff was news to the majority.
